Tried to show rheumy Kate's book last visit. He dismissed it with a wave of his hand. Couldn't even be bothered reading the title. Oh well to be expected I guess.

I love a physician with an enquiring mind whose life is dedicated to improving the lives of his patient. Pity that he is not one. Kate’s book is excellent.

As I'm in Australia and as he advised me he had quite a few patients with GCA/PMR I foolishly thought he might like to pass it on. Yes great book and his loss.

So disappointing to hear that. Kate Gilbert’s book is a godsend to patients with PMR as in my case and also GCA. It really helps you to understand what is going on in your body. Good Luck with your journey.

My experience with my Rheumy also - Research ( the book) not of interest to them. Still with the lockdown MY Rheumy has given me up altogether , so good knowledge Friends you are to follow, Thank you so much ,John

I actually flung a copy at a rheumatologist once who dismissively said 'oh, you've been reading Kate's book'. I ditched him and got another rheumatologist. Kate actually read my post on the incident and PM'd me to ask who it was and that rheumy was well-known in PMR circles.

What an arrogant little ****, My neighbour popped round the other day to tell me that she’d just been diagnosed with GCA. Guess what I gave her to help her on her journey?! Along with the contact details of PMRGCAUK and a pot of my homemade jam - strictly only for her visitors of course!
