I note that the book is a good read for the loved ones to understand these conditions... my dear wife will be forced to read it. Ha ha. D
Yes, stood over my OH until he read it and I think (when able) he has some understanding of the problems.
Love the paracetamol for breakfast part ha I'm going to do that
I got the book, passed it about , and finally gifted my Bowen Therapist with it. Winner all about.
It's a great help. As is this forum. Would have absolutely no idea of what PMR does to us without them.
Yes, Kate Gilbert's book is great. I read it in the early days of the illness when I knew next to nothing about GCA/PMR. Her book gives a very informative overview and is full of advice for diet etc. as well as useful websites and further reading. Also she tells her personal story in a very warm and funny way. This website + her book= reassurance and support big time. Recommended for all newbies.
I really liked the from a patient perspective.
I found it very helpful too! Recommendations all round!
Hi David
It’s a book you will dip into again as you’ll understand more of what Kate is saying.
It’s a good reference guide.
Hope you’re doing OK?
All is sort of ok thanks. I’m adjusting to this gca thing I think and although worried I do feel I could get by ok. David
We’re all here for you anytime, l’m a PMR’er but there’s lots of folks with GCA who’ll be able to answer any of your questions.
Take Care 🍀
Lots of advice re GCA or PMR on here when you need it.
I bought the kindle version but can't find my kindle!
I was so happy to read her book. Lots of information in one place. The adding this forum with all it's wonderful twists and turns and extra charm had made this whole crummy disease tolerable! "The club to which no one wants to belong" is actually full of great people!
