I just had to write to say how good this book is and I couldn’t recommend it more highly. I know many of you will already know it well but I’ve only just read it and apart from finding it full of useful information I was surprised at how enjoyable it was to read. I hadn’t bothered with it earlier in my journey as I thought I’d be one of those on only a short trip into PMR land. I’ve recently had to accept that I might be visiting for a longer stay so thought I should get more clued up. Great book.

Not from a patient's person experience - she had PMR.

Yes, it's in the title.

Yes, I agree it is an excellent book. I think it does cover GCA, it's pretty comprehensive. To have such a well written book written by someone who has had PMR is wonderful.

I think all of us expected to be on this swing boat of PMR for the minimum amount of time but, like most, I am still here. We need to remember the median duration is 5.9 years so I am only just over halfway.

Just imagine PMR life without this forum though....?

I totally agree. It is just so informative. Initially the first dose of meds eases the dreaded pain. False security creeps in until the tapering starts. So to be aware through this site and the book it gives us awareness of exactly what we are dealing with and how to manage/cope.

Yes, it's a great book. I read it twice over at the start of my diagnosis and treatment, and I often dip into it even now almost two years on!

So did I and still dip into it quite a lot - great help and 'easy reading'.

I have been drinking Aloe Vera juice each day for a couple of years. I have no idea whether or not it helps but assume it is doing some good somehow. 🌻
