Update on setback.

FIRST. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL THE KIND WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT. YOU MADE ME CRY!! A happy cry.

Day 2. Another 1000 mg prednisone by IV at the hospital. Then office visit w Opthomologist. Same one I saw in emerg yesterday. He doubts my right eye will return to Normal. The bottom half

Is gone. The pics of the optic nerve were graphic. Huge swollen inflammation in nerve. Left eye looks good. Best Hope is prednisone will stop Further damage. But today optic nerve was still white. No

Blood flow. It should be pink. So the next week will tell the tale.

More follow up visits with neurologist and rheumatologist and family doc. Going to be a busy July.

Ooh that’s hard, especially seeing it laid bare like that; harsh reality up close and personal. Thank goodness there was some prompt action. Be kind to yourself (in a low carb fashion ) and wrap yourself in cotton wool if you can. 💐🐩 (That was the closest emoji I could find for the cotton wool)

Do hope the Pred does it’s job; if there’s been no deterioration since yesterday it may remain as it is.....based on personal experience.

I’m so sorry there wasn't better news for you - but as Dorset Lady says, the prednisolone may well stem the damage - and the swift treatment you so sensibly got for yourself at the start if this frightening time certainly must have done that too.
