Going for a biopsy on Thursday and rheumatologist appointment on Friday after a visit to doctors on Monday morning for a review of the pmr symptoms vastly reduced by 15mg pred. Mentioned pain in the scalp grotty headache and pain in left eye so doc sent me directly to eye casualty and was put on 40mg of pred as a precaution until gca ruled out or confirmed. Feeling a bit apprehensive about everything but blessed to be taken seriously.

It sounds like they're covering all options and that is a good thing. Hope it all turns out well.

Did the 40mg help? Remember, a negative biopsy does NOT rule out GCA. It may be in other arteries or bits of temporal artery but can easily be missed.

Has not responded yet, I am not sure how long it takes, been on it since Monday

It may not be enough - but I'd have thought you should feel some effect by now.

I am at rheumatologist tomorrow so may get more answers then. I guess it's not beyond reason to think that there may be another little gremlin lurking in my noddle perhaps

Anytime, there's ALWAYS someone to help you here and advice is genuine around facts and personal experiences - just remember we are all different and what works for one doesn't necessarily another but all is useful in helping you get to know your body and what works for you. ATB (all the best)!
