If you live in UK you don’t need a text from you doctor, Boris has told us ALL to stay at home unless you have a very good reason to leave home!!

As piglette says - now no-one is to go out except for essential food shopping. Your lockdown in the UK is much the same as we have here in Italy. Providing the public comply with it it will make things much better for people like us. It is only people at high risk who are to get the self-isolation text or letter and they will be sent out over the next few days. Self-isolation means you are not supposed to leave the house at all and have no contact with anyone and even distance themselves from other family members.

However, according to the official documents the rheumatologists are using being on 3mg is no longer an immunosuppressant risk. One rheumy says she is concerned about her patients on 5mg but the listed doses are 10-19mg per day for increased risk and above 20mg is high risk.

In Italy what has happened to maintenance people, gardeners and laundries?

There are self-use laundries here but not many and they really tend to be used for large items. I haven't seen one to know if they are open. Gardeners who work alone were still working last week but don't know this week - they moved the goal posts on Sunday again and I haven't seen details. You aren't supposed to allow anyone in who is outside the usual residents in your household but I assume emergency repairs are OK.

I notice our MPs are all sitting together in the House of Commons today inches from each other. I bet they still have their restaurants and bars open there too. It makes my blood boil. Haven’t they heard of the internet?

I think I heard yesterday that they had actually finally closed the bars but I could be wrong.....

I saw a couple of women both heading for a space on a bench, climbing over the blokes already seated. No concept of "could you budge up?"

They live on another planet, or perhaps I do!

Our regional government leader is supposedly in quarantine because a colleague is +ve. So he was on the afternoon statement to the press, in a room with others, just sitting 2m away and wearing a mask. What an example!!!

I am totally speechless, don’t do what I do, do what I say!

How about if you are on 60mg? X

That is high risk - there will be a post shortly with an assessment grid anyone can read.

There are several who have got a letter, phone and/or text from the NHS. However, the situation means that everyone should treat themselves as both a vulnerable and dangerous person. I say this in the sense that if one doesn't follow the stay at home protocol to to then one puts others at risk and the infection rate multiplier is astounding. It is a bit if a strange time. Keep in touch with the COVID CHAT that we put up everyday to ask questions, raise concerns and discuss all things covid. Thanks.

I agree, the whole world needs to stay home and/or practice social distancing, it is our only defense without drugs and vaccines.

How do I find the covid chat, please?

in reply to Breconblue

It or rightly they are in the pinned posts. If computer it's to the right. If you are on tablet, probably to the right. On Android below...just scroll down. Come back to me if you struggle. 🌻

They have the rest of the week - it all takes time and I imagine that working people are being prioritised as they are at great risk and need to show their employer.

I am in lockdown so not in a hurry to show my employer. Working from home...a bit.

Stay well in Italy.x

Well you are doing a lot for our community. Giving info & advice. Can you go for a walk? Can’t remember exactly where you are in Italy.

In South Tyrol - right up in the north, north of Venice. Only within 200m of the house officially - just the distance to the small supermarket, I take the car to the big one a 15min walk away.

At least you must have stunning scenery nearby.

Not bad out of the window! Was better until the neighbour had the top floor built out and the house grew a few feet!

Then there are your nearby mountains-the Dolomites. Spectacular.

PMRpro profile image
PMRproAmbassador in reply to whitefishbay

That's where I live - not just nearby! One side of the main road is officially Alps, the other Dolomites.

whitefishbay in reply to PMRpro

WOW. I rented a tiny apt for a month in Venice one summer and we drive thru the Dolomites and popped into Cortina. One of the post beautiful places ever. Spectacular.

PMRpro profile image
PMRproAmbassador in reply to whitefishbay

I'm the opposite side of Cortina to Venice - about 45 min drive on a good day. With tourists it takes forever.

And the Giro often goes past the door, last year it was about a mile away.

in reply to PMRpro

I am jealous of that. As you know I followed the cycling on TV last year and it was lovely. My summer entertainment smashed. No Olympics(?), No cycling...giro, le tour or vuelta....

Eurosport raided my account for 40 last month, they usually ask first but I may have missed it. But the years membership will start when sport starts again. I couldn't get in Netflix last night...probably installing new servers now to cope .

I get Eurosport Germany free - used to be much better, too much goes to Eurosport 2 which I would only get in Italian which is a waste of space. Winterport coverage here is superb though: German, Swiss and Austrian which are all like the Beeb, public service, and Italian if desperate. 6 Nations rugby on Italian or via FilmOn, assorted tennis on some random Italian tennis channel. Only time I get annoyed is when 4 different channels are showing the same thing! Usually ski jumping ...

in reply to PMRpro

At least winter games not due for a good while...no ski Sunday either 😱
