Feacal Matter Transplants. blerrrgh! Poo may not be able tell your future health but it seems that ingesting others is good to gets rid off frequent UTIβs. Ecoli that hides in the gut causing the recurrent infections is killed of by a course of FMT. Only under hospital conditions that is.

I would have to have mega serious utis to have one. The majority of us spend our lives avoiding other people's faecal matter! But if course uti from pred and calcium has come up many a time on the forum and I know some have utis for years on and off. If they can stand the thought and it is absolutely proven to work most times... Then... Gulp.... I suppose it would be worth it.
You did say yesterday that it is pumped in rather than taken orally , so I suppose that's a relief!ππππ
If its been shown works , I would try it , to be honest , anything is better than the months of UTIs and bowel inflammations I can get at this time of year.
No it's often done by nasalpharegeal tube too!!! Can't imagine much worse given the description in. Pmrpros link in your crystal ball thread.
Don't worry. One doesn't have to drink a potion! Delivery of donor material has to be done another way.
Whether you believe in homeopathy or not, bowel nosodes have been used by homeopaths for many years. Introduced by Dr Bach of flower remedy fame, he felt that many illnesses were caused by poor gut health. Today Drs are coming round to the concept of the gut microbiome and leaky gut syndrome and their role in chronic disease. Like fashion, things go in circles in medicine too.
Donβt think I could face this but I suppose if needs must!! For the moment Iβll stick with my D Mannose. It has saved me from two flares of UTI recently.
I understood it was mainly used for c. difficile, although there are about 300 trials currently going on for other things. NICE allows for c. diff only at the moment, cost around Β£650 a throw. Not many hospitals in this country have tried it so far though. In the US apparently they have an oral facility too now but pretty pricey.
I have never heard of anyone eating poo. I've also never heard it be used for UTIs. It is being used to treat those with a serious case of C-Diff. And I that case it is put inside their colon. I have a friend that had this done.
That's the only use I'd heard of, too. And it appears to be a successful treatment, giving life back to people who had been miserable for a very long time.
