I’ve decided that I should probably be taking Vitamin K2 MK7 after reading about it helping with Calcium absorption. However, I’m totally confused about which brand to buy, I’m hoping that you lovely people might be able help me decide based on your own personal experiences.
Firstly, what amount should I be taking daily? Is 90 µg daily an acceptable amount?
Secondly, which brands are suitable? I have found two brands that I think might be ok. The first is Nature’s Best Vit K2 (MK-7) 90 µg which are small easy to swallow (I find it difficult to swallow large tablets). In a review someone mentions that they are made from chickpeas. The second brand is Solgar Natural Vitamin K2 (MK-7) 100 µg Vegetable Capsules made from natto.
Any help would be gratefully received, I feel as though I am going round in circles! 😀

Hi... I have a spray version in the UK which is veggie. I chose it totally on the fact that I couldn't face the thought of more pills. You spray it on the inside of your cheek. I think the company is "better you"... If you are in tbe USA there may be a version there. Not certain how you would check whether one brand works better. I bought it from Holland and Barrett which is usually a good source.
That’s interesting, I know what you mean about taking more pills 🙁 I forgot to mention I’m in the UK so Holland and Barrett is accessible to me. Thank you
I have found H&B K2 not often available & so now regularly buy from Nature’s Best. They currently have an offer on if you buy 2 pots & yes they are very easy to take.
Hi I take Natures Best K2 (mk7) 90 ug (small brown capsules, very easy to swallow). It says take 1 or 2 daily. I usually take 2 one with lunch and 1 at teatime with my calcium. I know what you mean about going round in circles, mcg's, ug's, iu's etc etc. No wonder we are all going bonkers.
As you mentioned, the second type of pills are made from natto, which is fermented soybeans. I get my vitK2 from natto, usually readily available in any Japanese store. Why take pills when you can take real deal? It takes some getting used to taste/texture of natto, but to me it is much better then taking yet another kind of pills.
I also noticed someone said they are made from chick peas. I love chickpeas. Maybe eating a few more would be sufficient. I also bake with chick pea water I think it is called aqua fava
Just started to take it also, got the generic one, 120 strength and is small and easy to swallow, it is
fat soluble so take with some fat food like an egg. Look up on Internet for suggestions, I have calfications in the arteries and a cyst in one kidney so will see if it helps when my scan comes up in 6 mos, cannot hurt. Also on statins 10 mg with cq10 as recommended by the dr and reasrch.
I am in the US and also order mine from VitaCost - they have lovely sales and whatnot, too. There is a VitaCost brand which has the MenaQ7 and nattokinaise (extracted from natto). Also get something called Bone Booster Complex which I feel like my body absorbs well.
