Whats this?

Anyone know what to think of this? I had a very small red spot the size of a flea bite on my forearm the day I went up to 60 mg Prednisone. The next day, I started on antibiotic Bactrim/Septra. My spot tripled in size and turned black but next day, it was slightly larger and brown. From the day I noticed it I have been keeping antibacterial ointment and bandage over it.

Have you shown this to a doctor?

Talked with her. She indicated it will probably dissipate soon but keep an eye on it just in case. That's a relief! All this is happening so fast...

Sorry to be so abrupt before but your doctor should make a visual assessment of this growth. It may be fine but it could be indicative of something that needs specific treatment. I also worry about your covering it up, whilst whatever it is continues to develop.

Are you sure it was a bite? A single one is unusual but it could be a petechia or a purpura which is a bit bigger.

Do not think it was a bite but maybe more of a "pimple" or ingrown hair... it was the SIZE of a flea bite. Now 5 times that.

Have you shown the doctor? I think that is a sensible idea.

I do get single purpura, reddy, browny spots, but they do not tend to grow, they tend to stay the same size and then slowly disappear over two weeks or so. I think I would check with my doctor in your case.
