Quick question

Hi all, just a quicky, has anyone been suffering with a sore mouth on pred, the last couple of days I've had a sore roof of my mouth, yesterday my tongue was also sore, now I've woken up with a sore throat and sore cracked corners of my mouth. I'm assuming it's the pre d because I've had so many side effects from it, I get for of one and another appears 😳

From time to time I do. I am careful not to bring it into contact with my mouth and throat, hence taking it with thick organic yoghurt or Kefir. Don’t discount the possibility that it’s something else though and see your GP if it persists. I have even had a raw feeling the length of my Oesophageal area and painful spasms, my stomach can be tender too with burning feelings.

Hello, given your dosing levels, I’d get it checked out for a fungal infection such as Candida, due to your immunosupressed state at the moment.

It may be oral thrush - pred does make us more prone to that.

Some times sore but comes and goes, but my tongue has been awful all the time I’ve been on pred

Yes I have a permanent sore mouth due to thrush which is due to Pred 😢

Yes, mine started with a sore tongue — I mentioned it to my GP while seeing her for something else, she scraped my tongue and confirmed it was oral thrush (side effect of pred) I had a prescription for Nyastin which cleared it up pretty quickly, haven’t had a repeat of it since....
