I went to see my own top class GP yesterday and took the opportunity of explaining how my G/R pred had been refused. She has reinstated it saying I need all the safeguarding I can get because of my stomach problems. I haven’t been feeling well so she took blood there and then. She rang yesterday evening to say my CRP had gone up from <5 to 37. I have recently tapered to 15mg from 17.5. Have to have another blood test on Monday. Have been having trouble with a sore tongue and extreme fatigue. Can this be connected to my GCA?
Liz.

Thank you Mrs N. I have also had a nausea and diarrhoea so her thinking was that maybe that could cause inflammatory markers to rise so she decided to test again Monday. She stressed over and over again that if there were any worsening or visual symptoms to go straight to A&E over the weekend. She made me another appointment with her on Tuesday. Thank you for your very sensible words about rest when fatigue is si bad. It’s very hard to rest when you can see that so much wants doing in the house but I will try to ignore it.
Poor You Liz, D&V wont help with the fatigue either. What a fantastic GP & to stress about A&E if any worsening of symptoms.
I’m shortsighted (myopic) & sometimes that’s a great advantage, then l can’t see what needs doing! 😉
I’ve been in/on the bed pretty much all week, resting with this Kidney Issue as it’s been affecting my PMR too, so sometimes you gotta do, what you gotta do & rest!
Keep us in the loop as to how you’re getting on & relax over the weekend.
My tongue almost feels like it has been burnt. It hasn’t and it has been sore for A couple of weeks. Have had a course of Nystan to no avail and my GP has prescribed a Dactorin gel to try. Dentist had a look and said he couldn’t see anything.
Hi polymy i realise you’re initial post was some months ago but I’m having terrible problems with my tongue and wondered if your issues have been resolved? Thank you
