1mg Gastro Resistant Pred Update

One of the people I've been speaking to over the past few weeks on this subject rang me back today. He is from Piramol Health, who manufacture 1mg pred for the licence holder, Alliance Pharmaceuticals. It seems that there has been a problem with supply despite the person I spoke to at Alliance insisting that there were no supply issues at their end. He has assured me that everything is now back to normal. Thank goodness for that and long may it continue!

Interesting... my gp's surgery told me that they are unable to get the pred... this way 3 weeks ago so it's lucky I've just reduced to 5 1/2!!!!

Hey, yippee! I've been to collect my next set of preds, and I've got not one set of gastro resistant pred but all three strengths!!!! I've either been incredibly lucky or the supply problem has been rectified. I never thought I'd be this excited about having to take steroids!!! 🤣 Hope I don't sound like I'm addicted, ha! 😀

Hello Lonsdalelass, I’ve still not able to get the 1mg gastro resistant tablets. My chemist is phoning 2 different suppliers every day and they say that they don’t know when they are coming in. I’ve let the pharmacist know that others have been able to get them but it’s not helping my case! Do you know who your pharmacy uses as their supplier for the tablets please?

Sorry to hear you're still having trouble with getting your preds, I only know that the 1mg ones are manufactured by Alliance. I don't know who the supplier is for my dispensing Dr's. But I'll try to find out for you. Good luck in the meantime.

Hi Floridafan, I’ve spoken to the pharmacy about suppliers and they tell me AAH Pharmaceuticals deliver the steroids to them. Probably the same for you too I imagine. I would give them a ring and ask if they supply to your pharmacy and have a good moan about the lack of availability, inconvenience of splitting the dose etc, etc. You can contact them on tel:[phone]. That’s the number on their website for non specific questions.

Hi thanks for your reply, I went to my pharmacy yesterday and lo and behold they had all my tablets including the 1mg in gastro resistant, result at last. Thank you for all the trouble you went to and if it wasn’t for this thread I’d probably still be unaware that the 1mg are now back in stock. Long may it last!

That's great Floridafan. So pleased you're sorted now. I was just about yo ask if you had been lucky enough to get them. Yes. Long may it last! By the way, we love Florida too, think it helps as our eldest son now lives over there. So we've been lucky to have visited him a couple of times so far. Hopefully we'll make another trip this year.

You’re welcome. It might be worth you doing what my pharmacist recommended - let them know you’ll be ordering the pred about a week before you actually do. Hopefully gives them time to get it for you. Good luck.

I used to do that with a Specific Brand when l was on AA they always kept the ones l found easier to take.
