Hi I have had blood tests as referred to in my previous posts. All normal which is good news so will have to wait for appointment for SleepApnea to see if this is causing my extreme tiredness. Some days I am ok and today I just want to sleep . Perhaps I expect too much as we have had friends to stay for 5 days and maybe I did too much .
Keep falling asleep : Hi I have had blood tests as... - PMRGCAuk
Keep falling asleep
It is normal to be very tired with Autoimmune Diseases and Pred adds some of its own. It just hits you like a bag of sand. Social occasions are utterly exhausting. I would have wanted to sleep while they were there.Blood tests tend to be normal whilst we are being treated with steroids, so they don’t tell us much, I’m afraid. Good luck with the sleep Apnea tests. I have had sinus trouble since I have had PMR - always snuffly and stuffed up nose. I didn’t follow up on the recommended sleep Apnea tests, you’ve reminded me.
Urtica ...Welcome to the club. You have just described what is happening to me.
One day a week I take care of my three grandsons 10,8,6. I can sleep for 24hours the day after I get home.
It's definitely the prednisone ( together with my old age) contributing to my total fatigue.
I find that resting for long periods of time, makes my pmr worse and I feel very stiff after getting back on my feet. I try to avoid resting too much.
It's a vicious circle isn't it dear.

Just having people to stay can be tiring - especially when it creates more noise than you are used to. Even communal meals are more tiring than just the 2 of you sitting down together! And when you are home alone you can just not do something - but with others around you are often forced to do things without realising it.
Add the extra "entertainment" and it can be totally exhausting!
Thanks for your reply. I agree with your observations and have just remembered that when I put down the phone after a “catch up call” with a friend or offspring I feel exhausted. I just thought it was me being antisocial!
I have had a yearly.measure of my pmr-ness. Xmas with the family...year 1 tears and bed at 7pm at the latest, year 2 stayed up til 10pm.nrw years eve, year 3 made it to 12.05am. Result!! It only takes 5days collapse on return home to recover rather than a week.
