I agree. I bought it when first diagnosed, and would advise anyone newly diagnosed to get themselves a copy.

I bought it when diagnosed and found it useful and loaned it to a friend who wa# diagnosed with GCA. She too found it very useful. I think all doctors surgeries should keep one in stock

I read it after Xmas this year. A very worthwhile read. I would love family and friends to read it too, but despite leaving it lying around in plain sight, nobody has picked up on it, asked about it, shown any curiosity, and I don't really want to force it on anyone. But it helped me!

No exactly a coffee table book 😊

Very wee book, and I also bought it in ebook form for my phone.

Always plan to read it.

This site and forum is probably all I need!

Thank you all.

dare I 🤔😂🤣🤣

why not? I consider my rheumatologist ( and my other doctors) as a partner in my health life. And as a new friend because of that. He was excited to read it and was happy that I left it with him to share. What better way to get the word out about this book and our PMR/GCA? If my doc had been insulted I would have found another doctor

It's nice to know there are some doctors out there who are caring and willing to learn, from a patient, no less!

would so recommend you to read it it is surprisingly easy read not like some text books

PMRproAmbassador in reply to seamaid

That is because it isn't a text book and was written from the point of view of a patient - Kate is an academic but has no science background and isn't a medical doctor

Hmm..not sure you can “reverse” PMR/GCA - but you can manage it!

I agree, but was more interested in the diet....

fair enough ….

You have it now but it was discussed recently. It's basically no different from any antiinflammatory diet you could fine free online. Most of these claims have no evidence backing them up - excep anecdotal claims by the authors who are looking to make money out of it.

That's too bad....I can still cancel the book...thanks for the heads up...
