I seem to have been locked out for a while, no idea why, but now when I am able to get in, I am seeing none of the usual people who always posted

Depends how long you were locked out. New people are always joining. Missing anyone in particular?

No, they don’t seem to be on the forum - or at least not posting.

There are a lot of people like you who haven't been around for some time for various reasons (though no-one has said they've been locked out) who I have noticed have reappeared in the last month or so. It does vary a lot.

I had trouble getting in in the last two weeks. Logged out. Waited. Logged in. Seems ok now. Only works on my I phone. Not I pad.

Have sent you a PM

Perhaps gardening season is a greater draw than the forum at this time of year?

Haven’t been locked out but some regulars aren’t posting for various reasons.

Hi Jeanie, some members were upset because they were reminded that the chat was getting away from the health issues..They are posting on MeWe now,l really miss Daisychain, she has been in hospital.l always enjoyed the friendly posts but they had to be blocked, because new members were not happy with it,and also some posts were too long and made the regulators job a lot harder.lt is good to see you back .l have to admit that l find MeWe more difficult to find my way around,it is much easier to find friends and post on this site.l think a lighter side did used to raise my mood,it is not easy coping with our illness and it is easy to become depressed.l wish you all the best, take care,Patricia xx.

Please forgive me but...Perhaps "new members" should be "some members"... Wouldn't want new members to feel they can't comment on things.

Yes, Poopadoop is quite right - a lot of longstanding existing members were unhappy and making contact to express their views.

in reply to Grants148

DaisyChain is not really posting at the moment but is concentrating on getting well.

I apologise for blaming new members,l was never really sure who was upset ,l think a couple were new and pointed out that it was supposed to be a health forum,l could not understand if some members ever felt excluded or left out ,because we always welcomed everyone and always will.

We now have the opportunity to keep Health Related Aspects on here & the Lighter, Funny or General Chat on Julian’s MeWe Group.

I know it was probably a slip of the mind Vs keyboard. I don't think you need to apologise. I am like the flying faux Pas and always have to edit or delete messages. I felt encouraged and like other members questions even if they cover similar areas. My brain can see the info sometimes and other times deletes itself from my memory before I have absorbed it so happy someone else asked.🌻😁

As a relatively new member, I’ve never felt discouraged from posting, even when my newbie posts were redundant of already well-covered topics, and felt encouraged rather than distracted by the friendly personal posts between obviously long-term forum members and PMR-GCA sufferers.

It’s easy enough to scroll through the threads to find the meat of the matter. For those who are practically housebound by this pernicious illness, making friends online is obviously much more feasible than maintaining IRL friends.

Yes Outdoorsy Gal,everyone is made to feel welcome on HU,l loved the friendly chat, especially as l lost my OH eighteen months ago and felt very lonely, this forum was a great help ,it certainly made me feel less lonely. There are some old HU friends on MEWE,but it is not an easy site to navigate and l find it difficult to find some of their posts .Believe me l do not recommend living alone, although of course some people like that .Kindest Regards Patricia x.

I think there’s more in ‘Chat’ than ‘Post’s’ on MeWe.

I find it difficult to find either of them sometimes Mrs Nails, this forum is much easier to navigate.
