Thanks for sharing this link, Fran! I missed the PMR one because, being in the U.S., I didn't realize that the UK was on their equivalent of our Daylight Savings Time. Just caught the last 5 minutes as a result. Glad to be able to start at the beginning and hear the whole thing.
I watched the Life Beyond Steroids webinar and I thought it was very informative. I had never thought of the cumulative dose of prednisolone depending on how long you are taking it and the possible negative effects of this. Also the fact that, should you be taking it for longer than 2-3 years, you are unlikely ever to be completely off it as the adrenal glands will not 100% kick back in. You will more than likely always be on a very low dose. I have reached 6.5mg after one year so am of course hoping that I can continue reducing by half a mg every 5 weeks on the slow taper. Fingers crossed!
Great webinar. I am one of those people that always felt I have a combination of several “ things”....great to find out that that could indeed be the case
I am a member of the charity now although I don't live in the UK. I wasn't aware of the Webinars at the time. Have I just missed the information ? Did Pred brain kick in ? Many thanks for this post as I can now catch up.
Well worth watching this very informative no nonsense webinar, good to get some answers and some understanding of our complex condition. Many thanks for posting the link Fran and good job Candy.
