If you are a member of PMRGCAuk (and we hope you are!), you will have received an email from the charity about the 10th Anniversary Appeal. This note is to assure you that the email is genuine, and that the link in it goes to our secure site on VirginMoneyGiving. VMG charge no fees for their service to us, and we have been using them securely for years.
I hope that this clears up any possible confusion. If you have any questions or concerns about PMRGCAuk's activities, please contact the charity directly, by phone or email. Thanks!

Hi Kate G Yes had the e-mail on our private mail and I wanted to give, after going to the VirginMoneyGiving page did so. But after assessing the page the PMR/GCAUK printed at the top of the page was fuzzy and almost illegible and I had clicked to pay with paypal but thought better of it and cancelled it and did not fill in any more data. There was a discussion on here a few days ago to just delete this e-mail as people did not trust it and I can see why. It really worried me that my paypal account/details could be hacked etc. and also they were asking to have a lot of details and open an account with them. With so many scams going on it might have been prudent to tell the members of the site what was happening before mail was sent out, and how we were going to be contacted regarding the 10th Anniversary of the group, it was suspicious alone that we were contacted on our e-mail addresses and not through Unlocked initially. Have given to many charities but mainly with Just Giving where you just state the sum and no further data is asked for. I keep a very low profile on the net and we are hardly ever bothered by scams of any sort. I back tracked and looked up VirginMoneyJust giving to see if it was OK and found you were registered with them, but, I had a few moments of worry about putting my paypal out online and not 100% sure of where it might be going. Also the e-mails about this particular mail were negative and the PMR/GCAUK mighty loose donations because people are not sure if it is a scam mail. We have had some odd mails recently who are not members of the site mailing members privately so is your data base safe? Saffron 52
Thank you Kate for posting this message of explanation. I have just checked the VirginMoneyGiving website and it is working well for me. Anyone who wishes to donate to the charity for its 10th Anniversary Appeal can visit our website pmrgca.org.uk and click through from the link at the top to make a donation. Options are given or you can enter whatever you like. As Kate has said this is a secure site.
As an alternative to donating anyone who feels they have benefited from the support they have received on this PMRGCAuk HealthUnlocked forum could sign up to become a PMRGCAuk member. Membership costs £15 a year and all that is raised through membership makes a massive difference to our members.
The benefits of joining include:
*three newsletters a year with the latest updates on research into the conditions worldwide,
*invitations to many events - support groups, meet ups and social
Most important of all you will be helping to ensure the future of the only UK charity to:
raises awareness of the conditions,
support all affected by polymyalgia rheumatica and giant cell arteritis
actively encourage research into the conditions
link with experts in the relevant fields of medicine
campaign on behalf of all to make sure things.
The power we would have if all members of the forum joined forces with members of PMRGCAuk would be seriously good.
Members have a choice about they receive NewsWire. It can be sent by email or posted direct. Maybe you are a member of a support group but not the national charity Telian?
When we have copies left over we do sent them to group organisers to hand out.
Hi March1ng ... if you go to the website pmrgca.org.uk at the top of the home page there is a link in a blue box that says "Together we can beat it!" Under that is a link to become a member. Are you in the UK? If not you could email fran@pmrgca.org.uk Fran is our membership secretary. She only works part-time so she will get back to you as soon as possible. Hope that helps and look forward to you joining. Best wishes Penny
We will be investigating why the email did not go out to everyone. It maybe an HU problem - we will let everyone know when we have found out the reason.
If you are a member Daisychain12 you will be receiving NewsWire direct by post or email (your choice) and you will also be receiving regular updates from the Director of PMRGCAuk (Liora) and personal invitations to PMRGCAuk events such as the Roadshows in 2017/8.
Hi Middleone! Sorry I missed this - if you want me to do something it's generally best to message me on chat because I will always see that. To join, just follow this link to the website:
