I seem to get out of breath each time I reduce my steroid dose.

It seems to last for a few days - and disappears until the next reduction. IAlso have a dry cough - which was checked out with no problems found.

Hello, do you think it was the flu-like illness that gave you a sore throat you posted about 5 days ago? I assume your feeling breathless has been since then, and if so, did the doc recommend a Covid test?

If it has been since the illness, it would be good for someone to listen to your chest properly to make sure you haven’t got a chest infection that has slipped in by the back door. Your Pred dose is low enough to get the tiredness people often get with low adrenal function but I don’t think we can say for definite what is causing it, illness, Pred or no Pred.

Hi Flosys. I'm sorry you feel so poorly. It's difficult to answer your question re virus or Pred. Your two weeks your doctor suggested to see an improvement is almost up so you should try to see him/ her soon. A telephone appointment should be out of the question so push for a face to face appointment and chest examination.Your reduction of Pred since March 60g to 7mg has been very quick and may account for your weak legs. You may need to increase your dose.

Thank you for the update, Flosys. I'm pleased you were reassured by the GP's examination and that you're feeling better. I hope you continue to improve but do take up her recommendation to contact her on Friday if need be. 💐
