I was just thinking about the various assortment of strange symptoms that I had for years prior to my GCA diagnosis two years ago. I remembered I had a very difficult time reading because either the page or the computer screen would turn yellow behind the print.
I saw a neurologist and eye specialist, but nobody could help me. The symptom left when I started the prednisone treatment and has not returned.
Just curious if anyone else experienced it!!!

I was diagnosed with migraines after complaints of temporary partial loss of field of vision. That included being unable to see the beginnings of words, and some letters turned different colours, ‘e’ went pink if I recall correctly. Not had one for a long time..... touch wood.
Some years before GCA I developed what the ophthalmologist said was a colossal floater, sent to eye hospital, told there was probably some inflammation somewhere and nothing could be done about it. Since then lots of floaters and as you say sometimes things seem the wrong colour. This has improved lately with the steroid sparer and 10 mg of pred. GCA when active affected my sense of smell, somethings seemed incredibly strong others hardly noticeable at all. GCA seems to have all sorts of weird manifestations, if you dont have the classic temporal splitting headache it makes diagnosis very difficult.
Gosh - amongst lots of other things, GCA affected my sense of smell also. Mostly it just disappeared, but a few things did become more noticeable. First time I've seen it mentioned. So - it wasn't just me!
