My left eye has gone quite yellow, I have had several episodes of Scleritis. Currently on 6.5 pred and 15mg MTX. Will be ringing the GP tomorrow but has anyone experienced this?

Hi, did your eye go yellow when you had scleritis previously? Have you had your MTX Bloods done recently?

If you can’t get an appointment with your GP tomorrow you can contacts the MECS Service

Hi yes, it is not quite as yellow as yesterday but veins are a bit raised up which I get every time I get scleritis, but also not as bad as yesterday. Have an appointment on Friday morning as no immediate concerns so I’ll let you know. Thanks Mrs Nails. Abbey

Had a good appointment with GP, she was very thorough having tests done at the moment so will get one result next week and the other in about 2 weeks. Also as I had Covid a couple of weeks ago and I tested positive for 11days! Some issues may be as a result of that. As an aside was told not to drink tea or coffee on MTX 🙁I only drink decaf tea and very weak. Hey ho!

Oh that’s interesting - l’m a bit of a Tea Bag - did she say why not to drink Tea or Coffee?

She said it’s too acidic and can cause reflux problems. I am tempted to still drink it but have it weaker and less often. I only drink black tea and I have it very weak anyway. I don’t like soft drinks and she said just water but … hmm that will be tough for me.

Life’s tough enough without your favourite drink - l’ve been taking MXT for many years & never once have l heard this about Tea/Coffee!

Sometimes l think some people have to make life difficult - no matter what!

Life without a Brew would be unthinkable for me!…..

Apparently green tea and methotrexate don't go well together - it gradually decreased the effectiveness of MTX on arthritic score (in rats). Caffeine doesn't affect anything, I get told all sorts of things about black tea over here - after a c-section in Germany I asked for tea on Day 3 - "Oh no, it'll make you be sick ..." Don't remember too many puking ladies in the UK ...

How can you have a baby without having a cup of tea!!!!
