So my daughter in law has now had her surgery ,lymph nodes remove just waiting for results ,praying for good news .She is taking it all in her stride amazing .I expect she is paddling like hell under the water ,My sister had a stroke on Monday ,she is up and walking with support( Weak right side .) it could have been worse not that I am making light of it but our other sister has been in a nursing home for 4 years after untreated GCA caused a stroke that devastated her . I cannot voice my anger at her doctors casual indifference to her when she was pleading with him to take her seriously at the time .There are many people with GCA on here PLEASE PLEASE IF YOU FEEL AT ALL WORRIED ABOUT YOUR CONDITION ,do not be put off by doctors who fob you off they don't know everything . Hubby is much better since he has been home ,just boring us all to death with the born again dieter speech every time we shop ha ha ,I never knew there was so much to learn about carbohydrates ,protein ,ect FASCINATING !! No honestly dear I am interested ,Just not on the hour, by the hour looking forward to Christmas dinner minus all the stuff which is bad for you not to mention I have a nut free .dairy free. gluten free .visitor coming in from Canada for Christmas ,hahhaha We will be eating delicate slivers of turkey on a bed of fresh air I think .,I have been promised a new shoulder joint if there is enough bone or worreva it was the orthopedic doctor said ,at last I have some one who has taken notice .I have been trying to make them see the endless physio was not helping .Yeeeeaaay cat scan revealed I was not egaggerating. If not at least they will repair the tendons and see what they can do with the muscle which has dropped to some where it shouldn't be . I have retired once again until this is done and then I live in hope Teresa May might honour her promise of some recompense for the Windrush victims ,As we are called although I am one of the fallout Commonwealth victims . We live in hope . What are yo all looking forward to this Christmas .My main gift will be a visit to my friend where we can have fattening meal ,followed by fattening desert with cream and sugar and ummmm ohh allsorts Topped off by alcohol .
What is on your wish list for Christmas . - PMRGCAuk
What is on your wish list for Christmas .
Ohhhh Patricia, I am so sorry to read your post, although you seem to be taking everything the Universe is throwing at you, in stride! Good on you, "...don't let the bastards get you down!" I will keep your family on my prayers and hope that all health issues are resolved or at least manageable. I was so mad reading about your sister who had the stroke, after her GCA was ignored!!!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, makes me so angry! I do hope your Christmas wish comes true... MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!!! xxxxxxx
Yep I cant forgive what happened to her , heartbreaking .I am so angry for her .
Your post was so full of missfortune and still managed to feel up lifting what an amazing attitude you have. All best wishes to you all.
Totally agree about Windrush it's a national scandle.
To be fair most of the issues are someone elses as we;; as mine .The logistics of hospital /nursing home visits along with my own Blood tests and other appts are quite challenging . I have decided that when I have sorted that all out I am going to offer to sort the railways out . I should have perfected the art of smooth running timetables very soon !
I am sorry that you seem to be having a lot of worrying health issues with some family members, your sisters GCA being missed was dreadful.l hope that the treatment for your shoulder will be successful. Have a lovely super rich meal with your friend, the cream ,sugar and alcohol sound great .Sending caring thoughts and prayers for you and your loved ones.
Yes I do eat rather quickly but I promise I will drink slowly haha Thanks and a new shoulder for Christmas or very soon after is quite unique .High on my list of unusual Christmas presents.
How gracefully you are carrying that load of care. I am looking forward to a weeks visit from daughter and boyfriend who live far away. Also spending Xmas with our grandkids ages 4 and 2. The best part of life is to have something to look forward to.
Oh yes I am so looking forward to seeing her ,She is an ASL speaker and I have been learning BSL That should be interesting . We will be learning from each other .
I hope your daughter in law has the same good result I had with my lymph node clearance. I'm sorry there's so much going on in your family but you don't lose your sense of humour (it's a good thing to have) and I hope you have a Full-Filling Christmas Day Dinner!... I'm seeing my family for the first time in 2 years so all systems go - working around the sick and unhealthy but we'll be okay. Best wishes to you and yours.
Thankyou I have everything crossed for her she is amazingly matter of fact on the surface bless her . Hope all goes well with your family ,Take it easy and make sure you make time to enjoy the day .
I can almost hear you salivating at thought of going to see your friend!! Hope you have a lovely time! Xx
