So here we are in New Zealand Day 22. Beautiful B&B called Harbour View in a small costal village. By day 5 we arrived in Sydney a bit jet lagged but we had the comfy bed seats on the plane to Hong Kong stopped over 2 nights and then over to Sydney for 10 nights. I don’t know how we did so much in HK but I went for another 4 days in Sydney before admitting defeat and upped the Pred to 10. It was Parker who decided I had enough so it didn’t feel like I was spoiling things for him. I slept for 3 hours whilst he went to Woolworths for our Dinner. We had a one bedroom serviced self catering apartment with a pool and Gym right next to the transport system. I took it a lot slower over the next few days but I think we saw just about everything we wanted to. Well as I relaxed more and Parker eased off his caring duties he his mind became more Yorkshire Man. He left his IPhone on the train. He only uses it as a camera anyway but all his “ my photos are better than yours” were on it. So I locked it out on ICloud and thought in 6 hours I will erase all the data and we can grieve together for the loss. We got back to the apartment and Parker decided he could accept the loss better with a bottle of wine and went off to Woolly’s. I got a phone call on my mobile just as he left saying I have your phone can you come and collect it please. Gobsmacked I told Parker when he got back the Police have your phone it was handed in. He is very sceptical about other humans and thought it was a serial killer luring us to his basement for nefarious purposes. He was still in shock all the way back to the apartment with phone in hand. I took over the retrieval process incase we had to speak to people to help us get to the police station and provide evidence it was ours. Total role reversal for Parker and M’Lady. No Pred fog head, me legs weren’t like lead and within 4 hrs of loosing it we were sat on the couch backing everything up so when he does it again at least it’s only the handset not the data. No stress related relapse either!!!
Staying at 10mg till we fly out to the Cook Islands on the 12th. I am achey and tired by 5pm but not exhausted. I don’t know if it’s being unfit as well as that doesn’t help but I can’t walk far as I get so out of breath. The great thing here is loads of stops and benches to take in the scenery. We have a car here too so no long walks required. It’s an automatic and brand new. Like driving a bumper car. So many gadgets on it for parking reversing staying on the right side of the road and warning noises if your in danger of squashing someone. However that didn’t help when I drove it out the garage in Auckland straight into a pavement bollard and scraped the far too low why is it there bumper fender wheel thingy. Oh how Parker berated the car hire person for not telling us it was there and to be careful to avoid it. As we were exiting on to a busy main road I was watching the traffic not the floor. She tried to explain it is very obvious to most of the customers but stopped short as he just stared back scarily quiet.
So my point was this beach has a hot water spring underneath the sands. At low tide you dig a hole and it fills up with hot water and you can wallow in it like a Hippocampus till the tide comes back in. It feels great on your PMR achey bits. Top Tip. Don’t go in school holidays. There were hundreds of people fighting for the best wallow holes. I found it too hot gets to about 60c. I don’t even wash me clothes that hot. Talking of which in order to get all the tat I have brought back O donate my laundry to the St Johns Charity Shop at each town we stop in they don’t even care it needs washing.
I send two more pictures of this natural if not weird beach.
