I’m a bit grumpy today cos I have a fur coat on and I’m hot. I’ve been hiding in the broad bean patch all day as it’s shady. Now I’m spreading the heat around by sitting on my mum. Later on when the sun goes down I will go in the garden and chase moths. I might meet my mate the hedgehog (or two if I am lucky). We ignore each other. My mum gives him food that I don’t like. It’s not fair, he keeps drinking out of my bowl and I can’t eat his food. My mum has cut bits of my fur off cos I get all mucky in the veg patch so I look silly. It doesn’t do much for my street cred.
I’ll get her back tonight by puking a fur ball on the carpet she recently shampooed. That’ll teach her. She will have to get down on her knees first thing in the morning when she is a bit stiff from OA and PMR. I love her really.

My name's Tigger. I used to live in Spain with my Mum and Dad, I like this weather. I'm up at 6.30 outside to chase some pigeons and find a cool place to chill out. I come home every 2 hrs for a snackerel just to keep Mum busy. After dark I meet up with my hedgehog friend Hector who lives under the garden shed and watch him while he finds some juicy slugs for supper, yuk! I always go home by 11pm or I get locked out, Mum has promised to get me a cat-flap if I promise not to bring live mice home, she doesn't appreciate what fun they can be. Adios x
Hi Tigger. I bring my mum mice and small fledglings that she takes away from me if they are still alive. Then she feeds me so I forget them quite quickly. I managed to get the slow worm the other day though, and bit it’s tail off. Mum took it away from me. She loves me really. X
Hi Ozzy, my name is Ginger. I was a farm cat who became feral but now I have adopted Mike and Sandy. I look after them both, helping lick the plates clean so they don't have too much washing up. Making sure they get enough exercise by demanding food or treats every couple of hours. Sandy gets a lot of pain so I give her a massage with soft paws most days.
I am of the long haired variety so this heatwave is making me very sleepy. I don't have to worry about grooming myself as Mike gives me a lovely brush twice a day. I still shed copious amounts of hair on the carpets as I think its good exercise for Sandy to use the carpet sweeper every now and again.
My friend is Leo a big brute of a tabby cat who, given a chance, will try to nick my food and treats. He has a doggy sister who visits too, she is scared of me and I only nerd to give her "the look" and she slopes away.
Me and Leo go out on patrol in the evening when it's cooler. We make sure everything in our patch is ok and that the other neighbourhood cats are behaving themselves. Leo can get into scrapes and it's my job to get him out of them.
We don't have a hedgehog friend here, haven't seen any for a long time. However we do have a Guinea Fowl friend who has taken up residence at the bottom of the road. He's very cunning though as he won't play with us but fly's up into the tree and shouts at us. We like looking at him though and making the chirruping noise.
I am currently sleeping out in the shade as its between mealtimes. I am glad to know I am not the only puss caring for humans with PMR
Hi Ginger. I have an acquaintance who is ginger and as we don’t know where he comes from my mum calls him Top Cat. He is the top cat of the ‘hood. But we agree to disagree as my mum likes him too. He is good at catching rats and brings them through my garden on his way home, which I think it a bit of a cheek. I had a rat once. May mum killed it by mistake. She loves me really. X
Superb picture. I've always been a cat lover and have fond memories of a neighbours cat coming to sit on my lap when Janet and I sat outside waiting for the hedgehogs to visit one night. They're inquisitive animals and tried to take a piece of Janet's toe until we shoo'd it away. A good way to get rid of left over food. I remember they particularly liked mashed banana and milk.
Regards
Colin
As a cat groomer by profession I've enjoyed reading all the posts, especially those from the clever kitties themselves! Ozzy you are a gorgeous creature and obviously don't need my services, but watch what you're doing in the veg patch!
