Broken little toe! Bummer!

I was feeling so fine this summer season...waltzing about with daisies in my hair and pretending all was just ducky!!

Then, little toe on left foot encountered cast iron wine rack... wine rack won.😱

Now I have a broken little toe, and it seems a flare is building its case against my happy little summer!

So, question,... can a little~toe trauma actually trigger a flare? I'm working at taper betweek 6 -5 mg prednisone...

symptoms are bi-lateral shoulder pain, hip pain, and knee pain...and generally feeling pretty crummy.

I'll be waiting for some words of wisdom from those who know of which they speak.

Thanks, Jerri

I can't advise as I only have GCA, but I just wanted to say ouch! I am sure you will get the advise you need when England wakes up. Take care.

Oh Jerri ouch! ouch! You know yourself that we are hothouse plants as regards trauma, even

“little trauma”.

What about 5 mgs for a couple of days, then return to your normal dose, feet up and painkillers? Are you at zero? I have forgotten. Heal quickly! You could try homeopathic Arnica for shock and injury.

We are supposed take wisdom from our trials. Um....get a wooden wine rack? Drink more wine so the wine rack is less heavy?

I broke my toe on 17mg Pred; man, it bruised. Just have GCA but had aches and pains from very altered gait that tweaked Pred weakened muscles not normally engaged. Disturbed sleep caused fibromyalgic pain as well. I do hope your body hasn’t seen this as a reason to reattack itself.

Why not - it is trauma, and pretty painful at that.

Perhaps you should stick to the pasodoble?

'Always look on the bright side of life' - if it had to happen best it happened during the summer when bare feet is acceptableish! LOL.

Those broken toes are terrible...small bone, big pain. I have had stress fractures in both feet all summer so I get it. I think going from 6 to 5 is a bear. I’m there as well. On my second try, week three starting at 2nd week of LD’s plan. All was fine until yesterday when I had bilateral knee pain (not unbearable) and a few other reminders that PMR is still alive. I’m staying the course for now. I’m able to do more at this stage but I still need to count spoons.

Enjoy the rest of the summer with your feet up!

OUCH! Not nice. I have no words of wisdom... just a lot of empathy for you and your toe! xxx
