Congratulations. Better to try, and learn your limits. Next time you will be able to manage a bit better, and time after that even better. Happy for you.

Ah well, you know your limits now. Even when not with PMR, a barn dance with no practice is a recipe for a full body protest. Fun is medicine as well.

Sandra - I feel your pain. I spent the evening rock and roll dancing and my shoulders are not happy at all 😬

My legs don't feel like they belong to me! I had a very restless nights sleep too.🙄Not doing much today

I did this at my sons wedding, the highland fling and PMR don’t mix either. Take it easy, save your spoons !

Good to expand limits with fun activities. I walked about 6 miles yesterday not all at once yesterday, met friends at the dog park, private Tai Chi lesson in Chinatown, street fair in my neighborhood, bed at 8:30. Pains are not too bad. Decreasing from 7 mg to 6 using LD’s method. Going to Boston on Tuesday...retirement party for me!

I love not having a work schedule. I am learning how to “be” and not “do.”

I hate when people ask what is my encore pursuit! Since PMR I really enjoy the day and have very little night! Taking PMR at 5 am for one year has given me a unique rhythm! When I babysit my grandchildren I go to sleep with them (4 and 2)! Today I will visit at 7:15 am! My son and daughter-in-law get to sleep!

So much to say about your post, Sandy.

I LOVE that! Learning to ‘be’ and not ‘do’. I think that's quite profound.

Fot someone that had a go/do, go/do, and go again lifestyle pre-PMR, you really figured out how to adjust. I’m sure that wasn’t easy, but look at you now! You made lemonade out of lemons.

Answer to Encore pursuit? ‘Me! Wherever my spirit leads me each day.’

Also, from 7-6 in a year sounds great! DL’s system is doing it’s job.

No more ‘cotton eye Joe’ for you for a while. Good on you though. We have to dip out toes into the waters of fun and a bit of action to remind ourselves we are still in the game. Maybe next time a short whizz round followed by playing spoons on stage for a bit. Mind yourself for a while. Watch rather than do and I hope you find you bounce back quicker than you fear xx🌸

Sounds like fun! The main thing us that you had fun! Today you rest and reflect on the special moments of the evening.

The last time I went to hear a local band, I got up to dance. After a few songs, I had to sit down. My balance was so off that I’m sure I appeared to be drunk dancing.

I don't even try to dance as my balance has gone, and I hurt too much. I am down from the initial 60 mgs of Pred to 6, so thought my balance would be improving but it hasn't so far but I know my limitations now and will plan on doing everything I used to do, including weight lifting (for fitness) when I finally beat this thing.

I'm down to 6.5, and my balance has got worse rather than better. Isn't it frustrating! Hoping my adrenals or something will kick in before too long and allow me to get back to something resembling normal. Not holding my breath - maybe next year?
