Something positive after a lot of bad

In the last 6 months I've lost my husband, sold our business, sold my house, had my car stolen, was hospitalized twice with pneumonia and broke my right ankle. (I think that's all). So what is my good news? After years of elevated sed rate and CRP, I just tested normal! The only thing I can guess is that the Kevzara that I've been on is finally working. I am still taking 9mg of prednisone but now I think I'll taper faster then I have been to see how I do on just Kevzara. I hope it works.

Given what you have been through, any sort of good news must be brilliant. Let's hope it continues. 🫂

Sorry to hear that catalogue - really harsh.

But please be careful with the pred reduction because while Kevzara will manange inflammation to allow that, your adrenal function will be impaired and the Kevzara has no effect there other than allowing you to get the pred dose lower to encourage a return of normal function. But give it time.

You reminded me that I already have secondary adrenal insufficiency from taking pred before. I know I won't be able to drop to 0 but I know what I was good at before so let's hope my secondary adrenal insufficiency doesn't get in the way this time. Last time I was good with 20mg hydrocortisone which if I recall is the equivalent to 5mg pred.

You have had so much heartache and a lot to cope with. I'm so sorry to hear, but you have stood in the face of adversity and remained strong. Such resilience should be recognised. It is wonderful news that you are finally starting to feel the positive changes with the Kevzara, but please just be careful reducing your Prednisolone too quickly. It could have negative effects both in terms of adrenal insufficiency and flares, so slowly, slowly is my advice. Wonderful news. Hope you can move forward in a positive way xx
