for a year as I think it makes me tremble and shake inside and out, the heat is really making me feel ill! I've just been taking paracetamol for pain I've had a diarrhoea quite severe over the weekend, nobody else who is staying with me had any problem, I'm a bit worried it's all because of my stopping the tramadol and one advice please

I only take 2 tramadol at night, the pain my hips are way too much and I can't sleep otherwise. I have PMR/GCA, diagnosed 5/7/18. I was taking in the am too, but didn't like the way I felt plus when I was placed on the steroids my pain improved.
If you stopped tramadol suddenly without tapering you will be experiencing withdrawal symptoms. I expect there will be a lot of advice on line about the best ways to avoid or reduce the withdrawal problems. Here's a site which seems to have a sensible approach as well as links to more information. Does your doctor know you've stopped?
No I did not get an appointment to request coming off tramadol, I don't know what other pain killers they can give me as I've been taking tramadol since I had my back operation on two years ago ?
Predisinone has never stopped my pain, I am waiting for rheumy to call and find out why' I still have inflammation in my blood on my last visit to hospital and no one called as arranged to let me know he thinks is the next move regards thank you
It might not be helping. I think it's becoming more widely recognized that doctors have been over prescribing these painkillers and they should be finding other ways to help their patients through a difficult period. But that doesn't help you here today, does it?
Opiate drugs will cause constipation, possibly coming off tramadol means that you areno longer experiencing that. I think you need to have your pain and it’s possible causes reassessed, I know that can be easier said than done, but try making waves, maybe best to discuss with your GP. Hope the pain is bearable
I have read that opiates such as Tramadol should not be stopped suddenly because it can make you feel quite ill. I would seek your GP’s guidance for a gentle reduction and cessation plan.
You have to stop the tramadol slowly. I took it before and after a hip replacement , I never thought it did wonders for the pain. It also changed some blood markers and I became a bit anemic and they thought it was due to the tramadol. I think you must come off slowly. Also the prednisone should work unless perhaps you are having bone on bone hip pain. Sorry you are feeling punk! good luck !
Quite ill is an understatement. I, too, went off of Tramadol that I was taking for sciatic nerve-type pain in February and March of this year. I did not like the way it was making me feel (quite hyper) and the therapy was starting to work so I reduced dosage for two days and stopped. It had been prescribed so routinely with not a word from the doctor, pharmacist or drug manufacturer about reducing slowly and not suddenly stopping it. (My local drug store has just now started issuing a sheet with prescriptions informing patients of same.) I spent nearly three weeks with diarrhea, nausea, nerve spasms, and lack of sleep after a full day of crying. By the time I figured out what was going on, I was nearly 48 hours into it and was afraid to go back and go through what I thought may have been the worst all over again. It went on and on and on. I encourage anyone taking it to be very cautious about stopping it. Talk to your doctor first and be prepared to mitigate some of the likely symptoms with metamucil and benadryl. If necessary, get a prescription for the diarrhea and nausea. If your doctor pleads ignorance, look into the likely side effects yourself and get the help you need elsewhere. I don't think my experience was all that unusual as I was able to find plenty of examples similar to mine with a simple search online. If I ever need it for pain in the future, at least I know what I am getting into in taking it. I hope you are over the worst of the feeling ill and can find something that will relieve your pain without making you sick.
