This is going to sound a bit weird I think. Although in our world lots of weird things happen... I can't think that this is steroid related but here goes... For the past few days I've been feeling as if there are possibly little hairs tickling my face. I have a cat and suspected him but there is nothing there! I am continually rubbing my face to remove the imaginary irritant!...
Help! Am I going doolally?

I wake up in the night sometimes scratching my face. That’s how I hurt my eye I think. A kind of mild allergic reaction to Pred maybe? Anti histamine might be beneficial. I’ve got that in nose drops now for a kind of Rhinitis that developed during the PMR period.
I have an itch at the back of my neck and some places on the back of my scalp. It has been there a while but has flared more at 2. I have been throwing my hair up on the top of my head to avoid any contact. A new steroid lotion seems to be helping.
What makes me wonder is why now, at such a low dose.
It worked! They are one a day and I was clear of it most of yesterday! I can feel the possibility of it coming back right now, so I will take another one! So happy to have an answer! Thank you!
Istarted with that, but it was after I had been off pred for a couple of months the first time. I then developed a similar stronger sensation on my hands, which turned out to be a mild parasthesia (related to nerve endings tingling). Apparently the sensation is like the start of shingles
Yes I have periods of this too and have RA and do not take Prednisolone or any other form of steroid. So I suspect blame is not with Pred. I too have been woken up with the feeling. Sorry I can't suggest how to relieve it. Mine just comes and goes.
I get tingling all down the side of my leg , like a spider crawling sensation but mine I think is due to problems with nerve endings. I have peripheral neuropathy in both feet and doctor didn’t really know what this crawling sensation was so he is writing to neurologist.
I have noticed this. I think there are two possibilities. First is the sensation you get when your moon face is on the move, because mine does go up and down responding to salt and carbs. Second is the emergence of the peach fuzz. Stay in there kid x
Thank you everybody! I'm here to tell you that the antihistamine WORKED! It's one a day, so I took one yesterday and after a few hours it was gone! Thank goodness, it was driving me crazy!
