I returned on Sunday from a week in New York and just wanted to say I had a wonderful time, even though I'm on 14mg Pred!! I took the advice from "our club" and made sure I took extra Pred to cover the change in time plus I organised airport assistance at both departures and at arrivals. We rented a lovely apartment on the Hudson in Jersey City with wonderful views of the Manhattan skyline - extra magical with the Empire State Building lit in red, blue and white for their Memorial Day. I'd never been to New York before so was determined to go, in spite of PMR - and we had the most wonderful time. OK, I couldn't rush around like I would have done last year but I was amazed - and oh so pleased - at how much I achieved so I want to say to all of you who hesitate to do something different from your usual activities, just give it a try!! I "listened to my body" and was very pleased with what I heard 😊 Obviously there is no way in which anyone could explore all of New York in a week but I managed much more than I expected. And, even better, I've not really experienced the dreaded jet lag - could this be due to the wonders of extra Pred I ask myself? 😉 I've taken it extra easy since getting back - how can unpacking a suitcase cause so much mess!!! - and plan on doing this for a few more days. So, to anyone considering an adventure, just prepare well in advance and then go for it 😉
One last thing, if your own adventure is to New York, please find time to visit the 9/11 Tribute Museum. So moving - just wonderful...............
