Sounds like you should have a birthday every weekend!

Can you get up to Yorkshire again, to clean our house - PLEASE?! :-D I would supply the wine and chocolates - even some of Jane's Bliss Balls!

in reply toRugger

Seriously! Maybe the rush of birthday adrenaline and the fear of being f@*&ing 64 scared the PMR/GCA right outta me!

Got it... cleaning products, wine, Jane's Bliss Balls!

Never mind cleaning the house, we could all meet at Betty’s for a fat rascal!

😂😂😂😂😂

Rugger in reply toCT-5012

That'll get some folk guessing! Are you going to tell them, or shall I? (Melissa has beaten us to it!)

I was thinking of bringing some Bliss Balls to the Ilkley meet-up on Friday, but there again, Betty's is only just round the corner. Yum yum!

in reply toRugger

Ahhhhhhh, you live near Betty's!!!! Lucky you!!!!

in reply toCT-5012

Okay... I had to Google both "Betty's" and "Fat Rascal," but I got there in the end... and I'm am sooooo in! I'd much rather meet up with all of you and enjoy a plump, fruity scone, hand decorated with cheeky cherry and almond face!

Forward date and time... I'm there!

This Friday, 18th May, from 12 noon - the Ilkley meet-up is just round the corner!

I live about 12 miles away, but it's worth the journey.

We're waiting for you to join us when you're able!

Anyone interested, have a look at Primrose2's latest post for more details.

There's a thought - I wonder if Betty's has a 'Community Room' for hire?

in reply toRugger

... and if I hadn't just gone "out on the town," this past weekend, in London, it would have been the perfect time for me travel!!! Great weather, feeling good, chance to visit Max and my daughter...

What's that you say? Timing is everything!

Rugger profile image
Rugger in reply to

Shame, but we couldn't have competed with the weekend you've just had!

'Follow' Primrose2 for the date of the next meet-up - possibly September, as we avoid the summer holiday period.

How do I find Primrose2 ?

PMRGCA is totally unpredictable. When we think everything is fine - bang and we have a flare or even something worse (having a half paralysed face in Moscow counts). Other times when we are braced for the reaction and waiting for it to come it doesn't. Stop looking over your shoulder and enjoy the moment. Some other time when you least expect it it will hit you.

Glad you had a great birthday - I've given up on mine

in reply toRetailmonkey

I guess that's true... unfreakinpredictable!

Yes, I would imagine having "a half paralysed face in Moscow," COUNTS!!!!

I’m Sicilian-Irish-American... I'm always looking over my shoulder!

; )

PS - Noooooo, you cant give up on your BIRTHDAY! When is it? We must celebrate!

I wonder if the planets are all aligned. Your inflammation is under control. Your peripheral health annoyances are gone, you’ve had a massive injection of love and happiness and for once God is in his Heaven and all is right with the world. You have also been doing lots of kind deeds only known to the recipients, maybe that gives us time off for good behaviour?

As always, back straighter, if she can do it, with all she contends with, then so can I. Thanks coach! Xx

in reply toSheffieldJane

Hello SheffieldJane (aka "BG") Hmmmm? The planets may very well be aligned and all is right with the world... for now. ; ) And as they say, "Karma is only a bitch, if you are," I've been trying my hardest to be good, do good, think good, so who knows?

HA! COACH?

I am the most unlikely coach there is... but you're right, if I can do you, anybody can! I was the original "Lost Cause!"

Which bit looks over your shoulder? What do the other two do?

in reply toRetailmonkey

Hahahahahaha... Only my shifty eyes look over my shoulder (when my neck allows, of course) the rest of me just tenses up and waits for the hit!

Wow, there is a God! Long may your escape from retribution last. Blimey after the past few months and with everything health wise that’s been thrown at you, you deserve a fantastic Birthday and no payback. Clean house...... deeply jealous. I’ve always been house proud, can’t stand mess. It’s the only good aspect of having lousy eyesight, I take my glasses off and it disappears and as long as I can keep the guilt gene under control I cope, just.

in reply toJean56

Thank Jean56! We'll see about the pay back... Fingers crossed.

The cleaning house part was a HUGE bonus... I usually don't see it either (without glasses), but I did on Monday! I never expected to get all that done, and I certainly never expected not to almost die from doing it... but stranger things have happened I guess!

Yup, true! .... stranger things have happened!

It is however in my nature to look over my shoulder! ; )

But, oh, what a great thing to know....we really do get better!

Mamici1, that's mean ole eyes in that picture! I think if nothing has happened by now, you are ok, girl. Anyway, I don't think it would be your birthday bash, but, rather, your energetic housework! I have been doing my own for the past 3 months, and back is screaming, so new lady coming Friday.

in reply tokarools16

Good on you! I dont't really think I can keep up at this pace, but man did it feel good to be able to kick that bathroom's butt! I too will look for someone to come in every few weeks. So it doesn't get that bad again!

And yes if those "stink eyes," didn't keep Tony's people away nothing will!

This is wonderful, okay payback may come, but it sounds like it's passed you by.

Good planning and doing the right things can hold of payback and it sounds like you did it, good on you :)

in reply toJulianJ

Fingers crossed... I don't know what I did, except throw caution to the wind; I'm just thankful it didn't spit in my face... yet!

Hope your birthday celebration wasn't too exhausting... and let's both hope we get to do it again next year!!!!

Fantastic, well done you and long may it last. You have numb and tingling feet too? Has anyone mentioned what it might be? Love the eyes.

in reply tojoyce69

Hi joyce69, Thanks!

They are investigating peripheral neuropathy... some possible causes can be:

Alcoholism, Autoimmune diseases, Diabetes, Exposure to poisons, Medications, Infections, Inherited disorders, Trauma or pressure on the nerve, Tumours, Vitamin deficiencies, Bone marrow disorders, Other diseases including: kidney disease, liver disease, connective tissue disorders and an under-active thyroid (hypothyroidism).

Both my brothers had it, so they are kind of interested understand root cause... we shall see.

joyce69 profile image
joyce69 in reply to

Very interesting, such a wide range of possibilities. I'll keep watching this space. Good luck.

in reply tojoyce69

Thanks! Mine started with tingling, then a numbing sensation, then they'd feel ice cod (like I was standing on a frozen lake barefooted) and then numb, like proper numb! It was all very gradual, over a the period of a few weeks, I'd say.

joyce69 profile image
joyce69 in reply to

Interestingly that’s one of the things on the list to talk to my GP about today. Tingling, numbness and sometimes burning on the outside of my left foot following varicose vein surgery 3 weeks ago. It feels as though it has a very large nettle sting. I have had burning and restlessness in my feet for many years that I’m now thinking appears to be connected to orafacial granulomatosis diagnosed last year. Cinnamon and benzoate exclusion diet has been helping up to now. Good luck on a diagnosis.

in reply tojoyce69

Yes... burning too! Good luck to YOU!!!!

I'll let you know how I make out.. next step is a Electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction study (NCS).

June 10th???? What fun, travelling with your daughter and grand-daughter, Menorca! Enjoy!

Hahahahahahahaha!

When I hit the big 7-0 last year I couldn't believe it. Strangely, I went around telling everyone, whether I knew them or not, I think in an effort to make it more real. But nearly a year has gone by and it still seems incomprehensible.

So June 10th than?

Hi Melissa

WHATEVER the 'reasons' - and sometimes there seem to be none - none that are 'logical' anyway - I am delighted you are feeling good - or at least without the 'payback' you expected. I took a MUCH longer walk a day or two ago than usual and have also been waiting for the sore muscles - especially in my feet which would happen if I dared to 'break the rules' - and that hasn't occurred either !!! Maybe the planets are aligned or the disher-outer of nasty stuff has developed PMR/GCA themselves and is just too bloody tired to have revenge - but however/whatever we are bout 'lucky' at the moment - enjoy !!!! So maybe champagne and/or cake for the royal wedding (putting aside- temporarily- all critiques of class structures etc. as I yes - 'superficially' just love the clothes) - there has to be SOME 'fun' !!

Rimmy

XXXX

in reply toRimmy

RIMMY!!!! Yes indeed... it seems the planets are aligned for many of us! Very odd! ...but hell, I'll take it!

Happy to hear you are still out and about enjoying Mother Nature!!!! Good on you!

Yes, champagne and cake for the royal wedding!!!! I LOVE checking out the clothes/hats too!! And I must admit I'm just a tiny bit enamoured with the intelligent, beautiful, but perhaps slightly, damaged Megan Markle! You know the misguided American fantasy... "American Girl Captures the Heart of the Prince") Ahhhhh, the stuff dreams are made of, huh? ...or is it nightmares?

*hysterically laughing*

My husband is looking for something to do on Saturday, as he is not the least bit interested and refuses to watch a second of it... Hahahahahahaha!

Rimmy profile image
Rimmy in reply to

Ha ha ha !! Melissa - so YOU will have to find someone else to share with or polish off the champers on your own - after that the romantic nonsense we all like to believe in will no doubt seem at least a wee bit convincing !! I can't quite fathom WHY the interesting Meghan would go for Harry but with my 'orientation' I often anyway think that about many intelligent/attractive women and the sometimes less remarkable men they hitch up with - there I ADMIT my personal 'prejudice' - & just being honest . It is however hardly THAT remarkable though I guess - after all 'power' - still often synonymous with 'wealth'- is an 'aphrodisiac' - as we all know. Anyway for the duration of this event I will enjoy the pomp and ceremony while I repress all such analyses and my 'better' judgement and liberally toast the 'happy couple' - AND with -is it 10 ?? small children in the bridal party - WHAT can go wrong !!!??

XX

in reply toRimmy

Hahahahahahahaha! Yes, what could possibly go wrong! (not even considering 10 small children!)

Well, lets see.. her wacko Dad could get himself released from the hospital and show up just in time to walk her down the aisle! If the Dad did show up, there may be a showdown between the Mom & Dad! Her estranged half sister could also get herself released from the hospital and show up (uninvited) on crutches in time to cause a scene! Or her estranged half brother (who sent an open letter to Prince Harry, telling him NOT to marry her) could also show up uninvited and wreak havoc on the royal nuptials! Who knows, once the American's show up.. it may be a Royal Shitshow!!!

Yes, I too would definitely chose Megan over Harry (although he does has a certain boyish quality that is attractive for about a second!) but she sees something in him and I think they will make quite interesting babies! Time will tell.

I will think of you watching (and toast you) as I "polish off the champers" on my own! xxxxx

Rimmy profile image
Rimmy in reply to

And I will toast you Melissa - as I think Ruth will give up before me ... and NOW I am much more excited that there will be some 'Americana drama' - as long as it is reasonably 'civilised' - I think kiddies losing the 'plot' just fine - but hopefully not the 'adults'

X

Kiddies losing the plot... funny.

American's losing the plot... not so funny.

{...and embarrassing for all Americans... although what could be more embarrassing than Donald Trump?}

I've seen that face before!! Got it!! Staring right back at me this morning!!!!!! Just needs a moustache!! Great you haven't woken up to a horses head!!

in reply to

Hahahahahahahahaha!

No, no horses head... yet!

Just so glad to hear you’ve had a good week & not ‘paid’ for your birthday weekend! 🥂

I've got a sneaky feeling that for us lot out here, following your posts is FAR more exhausting than your brilliant, outrageous birthday celebrations ... I quite like Harry lad but not so keen on M and my old man, like yours, is hiding for the day...I still think it's a bit mean not giving us another public holiday tho'!!

in reply totgca

Hahahahahahahaha! It very well may have been much more exhausting for all of you to follow my post, than my brilliant, outrageous birthday celebration, actually was!!!!

...but that's why, they say, perception is reality! The perception of my brilliant, outrageous birthday celebration, may have been quite brilliant and outrageous... or it may have been just "okay!"

What's you're perception?

; )

PS - I here-bye decree May 11, 2019 a Public Holiday!!!!
