"You need to get off steroids"

I am so sick of hearing that statement. Do doctors think we enjoy all the side effects we suffer. Steroids have given me diabetes, gastritis, swollen liver and spleen. Yesterday I was given results of all the tests, along with the advice get off steroids and everything will improve. The expectation that if I can get off steroids everything else will disappear. Let's see.

I've been tempted to retort "so why did you put me on them, then?". But of course we know the answer to that. Maybe they're just trying to cover their own backsides in the event of someone having a really bad reaction.
