Thanks for replies. Never thought to check weight throughout the day. Will do and see what happens. My Doctor prescribed vitamin d3 without calcium. Anyone else taking d3 and any side effect? Thanksx

In many cases we are getting enough calcium in our diet so the other things required to properly metabolize that calcium are what we are advised to take. Probably we should be getting information about Vitamin K2 and magnesium as well.

I didn't know you could be. :) Make sure they know it's K2 you are interested in, not K1.

What I know is that pred made my bust convex as opposed to concave.

For the first time in my life----cleavage!

It's not all bad.

And I've had no nasty side effects from vitamin D.

Most of us are probably taking calcium/vit D anyway - it should be prescribed for all patients on pred as a preventative measure against loss of bone density.

I take calcium with D3 and on top of that a D3 tablet too! My blood vitamin D was low, got topped up by megadoses of D3 over a year ago (no side effects at all) and has gone down again - hence the extra tablet of D3. All prescribed by my GP.

Sunshine helps us to make vitamin D in our skin - don't get burnt, though.

Thats a lot of tablets Rugger...there I am worrying about one extra tablet.

It's not really the number of tablets - it's what's in them! Vitamins are good = "vital amines" = vital, for supporting life! Even our pred and other meds with their side-effects are 'good' when we have conditions that need treating.

There's been discussion on here about pred being our 'frenemy' = friend & enemy!
