So its freezing here in the south east, 4 degrees brrrrrr.
I have got my electric heat pad out again, my knees and shoulders/neck are so sore - i think like many the changing temperatures cause my aches to be more bothersome. If you haven't got a heat pad its worth investing, for me it definitely gives comfort to aching sore joints/muscles.
Just my thought of the day.
Keep safe and warm all

It's cold up north too. I had to have heating off while a smart meter was fitted. I was frozen! Sitting in the cold for 3 hours is not my fave thing and my neck is sore too. The cold always gets me there. I am going to bed for an hour!!
Certainly my hands wouldn't be functional without a lively Biel of warm water some days. I have never had my heating on at this time of year. Have never felt the cold as much full stop. Oh well boiler etc was on and smart meter was hovering between 4 and 5p an hour. I can see me lurching round the house unplugging things now 😂😂
Lesley, I found my heat pad indispensable during my PMR/GCA days, especially for my neck/shoulder during the early days. I agree, it's sooo cold and windy here in the South East - in fact, the big garden waste bin was blocking my drive when I returned home just now - it must have been one helluva gust to do that. Aren't our bodies faced with doing some fast adjustment with our weather conditions - heatwave just over a week ago, now freezing cold again. At least, the forecast promises a quick improvement, so hopefully you will have some warm sun on those poor painful muscles soon.
Yes, really cold - I had cleaned the log burner thinking I had finished for the season, but its up and running again. The heat pad gives such a lovely relief, looking forward to the warm weather again ... but not too hot, that doesn't agree with me either - I have become just plain difficult lol
A week ago we had a bbq in scorcing heat (well 28 degs - that’s scorching for me)! Yesterday I made a good old English broth for dinner - today Goulasch!!!
Don't think we can think of anything else at the moment can we, bloomin weather, I'm also in the south east Lesley and it has been absolutely freezing, got an open fire and had the chimney swept following winter but it's back in use again! (as well as central heating full blast) - unbelievable change in weather it is.
What about that rain yesterday? I got soaked through to the skin, literally, thought it a good idea to walk back from my local garage as left car for MOT & service, but the wind with the rain was awful plus I got sprayed fully when a bus went through settled water on the roadside! Needless to say the fire went on as soon as I got in....today it was 16 degrees! No wonder our bodies are suffering...
Hubby wouldn't be without his heat pads - has one in each chair as uses them daily on his bad back - they are good.
How frustrating after having chimney swept .... but necessary this week.
Yes the rain was unbelievable, both my little dogs peeked out and said no thank you to a walk, so we all curled up in front of the fire and one of them discovered my heat pad on my knees and settled in comfortably on that!
tomorrow is looking dodgy but forcast better for weekend !
I know but that's life as they say at least it's done now. Hopefully not too many open fires to come!
The dogs are sensible and how lovely - picturing your doggie on your knee .. miss our dogs dreadfully but not having anymore - too upsetting to lose them.
Weather is still dodgy, I'm still frozen through but that's down to reducing pred as well, always get the shivers...
Having had dogs for 20 years then a break for 10 while I was working full time, I decided now I am not well enough to work I would get a couple of dogs. It gives me something to get up for and makes me walk (unless its chucking it down with rain). So we have two mini dachshunds, one is 14 months and one is almost 8 months - so definitely trouble, but adorable. (Previously had large dogs so very different)
Cant imagine life without them now.
I also get feverish when reducing preds, but my temperature is all over the place anyway .
I have been over here for the last 2+ weeks. The only place I was warm was in jinasc's house for her birthday party! Everyone has kept telling me how warm their house is - can't say we'd noticed! I am taking my warmer-weather clothes back unused (hope sprang eternal) as I have only worn what I normally wear in the winter at home. I missed a whole week of 25C at the start - but we are promised 21C in central Germany on Friday on the way home. And mid-20s at home. I do hope so...
I have found that my electric heat plus electric blanket and heating pad have helped my condition. Mostly at night. The heat was just installed a while ago and the electric company reduced my rates with a note from the doctor that it improved my condition. I also installed a walk in bathtub that has become a daily hot water soak. All things do help.
