Hello all

Just thought I'd update those of you that are interested. Cut a story, I will be having a pre op on the 4th May prior to having a double coronary heart bypass and mitral valve repair at Papworth hospital. Things happened very quickly since my GP said I had a heart murmur.

I now carry hydrocortisone to inject in case of an emergency, all due to long term use of steroids, but I'm stable on 7mgs of Pred.

Regards to all

Gosh your head must be in a spin! That was all so fast. Papworth is a top class hospital. You’ll be relieved when this is all over. I am sure that all will go well. I wish you a speedy and complete recovery. 🌺

All the very best for the surgery. If you have to have it done Papworth seems as good a place as any!!! Hope the bypass is as successful as my mum's was and that the mitral repair all goes well too. You'll feel full of beans afterwards (one the soreness goes).

Papworth’s a great hospital. My sister had major surgery there and I was so impressed with their caring and professionalism.

ATB Bowler. Long journey for yourself with GCA/PRM. Sure you don't need me to say take it easy.

Papworth is the best heart hospital. It's where I was diagnosed with AF. While you are waiting for the big day, start thinking about all you will be able to do, and go, with your' new heart'. Wishing you peace and calm in the waiting days, and a miraculous recovery. x

Wishing you a speedy recovery Think of all the energy you will have when the team have performed their miracle and you have had a lovely long rest saying a little prayer, but am sure it won't be needed Best of everything and please let us know how you are doing - when you can
