One thing I read is that it won't cause an ulcer on its own but if you already have one from NSAIDs or other reasons it can make it worse...not that hard to take it with a bit of food anyway..

I noticed mention at the end of the article that a new drug may be available in 1998. That suggests to me that this article is at least 20 years old.
yikes, good catch..I'll just continue to eat a bit and drink milk...to be safe, I've also read more where Dr's tell patients that its ok with water if its not causing any problems with the stomach and they are not taking Nsaids.....I guess its not that hard to eat a bit when taking them....they don't really seem to bother me...
I think I would experience fairly immediate ill effects on my digestive system if I took it with water alone. I also do take a missed dose as soon as I realise, because I am taking it for inflammation, I guess. Not a mistake my routine allows for anymore. I wonder what happened to the new improved drug? I dread to think.
Anyway it's good to scan the horizon for anything new. Our doctors seem to be the last to know. Hope you are doing well!
It is always recommended that ordinary pred be taken with food - at least a glass of milk or a yoghurt. Not really necessary with enteric coated pred though.
Although 1998 isn't exactly the dark ages, this is the first and only thing I've ever read that says something like this....everything else says with food so that's probably safest...most people have also used nsaid's before starting prednisone so there's that stomach risk....just an interesting article...
