Pred double up for 1day?

Advice needed, I am having dental sedation tomorrow they have told me to double the dose of pred. I've just gone back up to 10mg from 9. It's only for one day . Will this doubling mess me up. Hope you can understand what I'm trying to get at. Thanks.

No shouldn’t do. Many double dose either by design as in situation like yours, or by mistake and it causes no problem.

Double dose, if you were on 9mg double is 18mg not 10mg...........or am I reading it incorrectly.

That is fine, I had to double up from 20mg to 40mg when I had an abscess and the tooth had to come out when the abscess cleared up. No problem at all, back to 20mg following day.

You will be fine, just bouncier than usual. Then return to normal the next day, no tapering required. If you are having a small operation you may want a couple of extra mgs during the recovery period. You are just heading off trouble from a physical trauma before it happens.

No - take your double dose tomorrow, take your normal dose the next day.

I had a tooth extraction when I was on 15mg of pred, just after I had been diagnosed with PMR. The dental surgeon told me to take an extra 5mg and I was fine.
