Prednisone update

RA believed head soreness was due to GCA symptoms returning, so added 5mg to my current 30mgs of prednisone. After three days, soreness still there. I do believe it will take time to work. Patience is something necessary for PMRGCA!

Hope you feel better soon and can start to lower your pred dose.

Four days now and the dull ache has become a mild head pain and soreness behind my left eye. I'm supposed to call my RA midweek with symptom report. I don't think I should wait that long

I don't think so either. Telephone call, asap in the morning. If no satsifaction a visit to A&E?

Try this

Spread your fingers throughout you hair and gently tug, do this all over your scalp.

Each hair has a little muscle attached to it and this relieves tension. My hairdresser whom has done my hair for over 30 years told me to try this when I was first diagnosed with GCA.. I found it worked.

I gather it works a bit like Shiatsu and good hairdressers do this when washing your hair.

It hasn't done the trick though has it? I agree with you about patience for the limitations and incapacity but urgency for anything that suggests that GCA is taking hold. I would want medical advice sooner rather than later. I'd be tempted to try a bit more Pred to see if that moved the pain in the right direction. Wishing you all the best! What a worry this can be.

So it is. I wonder why it popped into my in- box, or maybe I just followed something that appeared nearby. Odd website sometimes.

I blame the sleep Apnoea. Apparently playing the Didgeridoo strengthens the throat muscles, perhaps I'll bring one back from Oz.
