I asked my Dr about taking herbal supplements such as glucosamine / chondroitin, and menopace whilst taking Pred, he said he didn't really know if there were any interactions with supplements. Does anyone know where I can find out more information or should I just ask the pharmacist?

Supplements and Prednisolone
My GP and rheumatologist seemed quite happy about me using glucosamine and chondroitin. I have also found my pharmacist really helpful on side effects of pred and I can talk to him any time without having to book an appointment! I think he probably is more knowledgable than my GP and rheumy regarding drugs. I would ask your pharmacist if you need to know anything about supplements and pred. I get the impression my pharmacist likes to be asked, possibly more interesting than sorting out tablets.
Yes - definitely the pharmacist, not the counter staff though! Pharmacists spend a long time at Uni and spend it all on pharmacology. Doctors do a few lectures - and sometimes don't even appear to read their BNF (British National Formulary) handbook before writing a prescription.
PMRpro, I well remember the days when our family doctor used always to consult his BNF book when writing a prescription. It is years since any Doctor I have seen since has done so. Far prefer to trust the advice of a good pharmacist these days.
