Was surprised on Sunday to find a parcel from Amazon un hall. Delighted when I opened it to Find Kate Gilberts Book .Thank you Kate PMR/GCA

Hello Tweetiepie .. Like you my Book by Kate Gilbert was delivered on a Sunday and I was so pleased to receive it , I thank Amazon for being so prompt . I hope you are enjoying reading it . What a wonderful Book and I feel I can take in more than on my Kindle and the print is nice and easy to read . I showed it to my GP today and said that every Doctor/ consultant should own one .. He picked it up and looked at it and his reply was Mmm!! Thanks to Kate we can read it .. Refer to it and we know that others are going through what we are ..and maybe one day we can conquer it ..Best Wishes. trish29

I received Kate's book today. Thanks for saying you showed it to your GP. You've inspired me to do the same. I don't want to seem like a difficult patient particularly as I was diagnosed with PMR only 3 weeks ago and I've already refused alendronic acid against her advice, but showing her the book is a gentle way to show her that I'm actively involved in caring for myself and, who knows, she may even want to buy it for the surgery. Brilliant idea.

Hi thank you for your nice comment .. I'm sorry you have been diagnosed with PMR and that you will be lucky to have a short journey with it . I showed Kate's book to my GP because a long time ago when I started on my Journey he told me it was all in my head which upset me and ever since I have done everything that has been suggested and still I got Flare- ups and reactions from medications etc .. I just want him to know that I do research into my condition and although I have been mainly housebound this year that I am still in there with a bit of fighting spirit left in me .. I told him he could buy it from AMAZON and I also told him about the brave guy on the Forum who did The North Run ..he asked if I would be running next year and I said my goal is to be able to get into a swimming pool again. I have a very good Rheumatologist who doesn't give up on me so you never know Maybe one day I will be Normal again .. The only good thing about this condition is you get Posts from lots of fellow sufferers that care and they can get you through your Bad days. Best wishes. trish29
