Hello everyone,

You may have seen a post in the last few days promoting a clinic in Switzerland. I've investigated the post and this is not from a genuine profile or member of this forum.  I will therefore be deleting it, which will also delete the thread.

Hello Kate.  I saw this too, and thought it looked too good to be true.  It's good to know that someone's vetting profiles and claims for treatments: especially when many PMR sufferers seem to be a bit 'lost' in terms of how to access reliable information or interpret it in their own context..

Thank goodness.  I have never read so much rubbish in my life!

Thank you Kate - I assume you have dealt with all three of the posts the person made?

While I'm here, can I ask people to report such stuff when they see it? I did so but perhaps had a few more done so it would have been investigated sooner.

To report a post click on the small downward arrow in the end box.

Thought it was suspicious and ignored it.

I saw it and commented,  but what was the aim of the post, The clinic appears to be genuine although the content of the post was rubbish and contentious .

I read the post with interest at the time. Somehow your head tells you that it wasn't all it seemed. I'm reassured to see  replies and comments from all our usual, tried and tested 'friends' whose words have comforted and given support.

Chelation therapy really is used in heavy metal poisoning - and there are a lot of people who are totally convinced all their ills are associated with their amalgam dental fillings and all they have to do to be healed is have their old fillings removed and possibly chelation therapy to clean everything out. It's basically the same as any of those "detox" diets which are also drivel.

But when you've invested so heavily I'm sure there is a very good reason for a placebo effect.

This reminds me of the tale of The Emperor's New Suit..!  All the same, I'm convinced that the Mind and Body equation does have some validity, even if difficult to prove scientifically :-)

Think there's plenty of documentation for the placebo effect - even when it is free of charge...

Thank goodness and thank you. Looked at it but it just didn't ring true and glad to have it confirmed.
