I asked a question on a post this morning - have been away most of day and evening and now find the post gone.

Don't like this at all!

Might well depart myself.

Are you sure you actually posted the question? I've found with this site I may spend some time writing a reply and then actually forget to hit "reply", and I can easily see myself composing a post and not hitting the post button. I ask because i get notifications of posts and they stay in my email inbox even if the post is deleted. This one here is the only one I received from you today.

Yes - I had an email notification re reply to my query

Don't be too hasty. Post again and see what happens.

What was the post about?

Nuff1 profile image
Nuff1 in reply to Yellowbluebell

The post was about Melissa - I asked if she'd been blocked again.

I like this forum because ofthe mix of serious and light-heartedposts; if moderators ar going to remove the light-hearted ones then I'm going.

We still have "light-hearted" posts, but the really "off piest" posts have been moderated.

Melissa has not been blocked. Melissa voluntarily left the site and can be found at MeWe.

As Heron says - sometimes posts don't go up, it has happened to me several times. I think what happens is you catch the cancel box instead of the post box by mistake.

I've just been through all my notifications - can't find a notification for a post from you in the last 2 days and it would still be there as the notification goes out immediately even if the post is deleted immediately for some reason even by the poster.

Wasn't a post - it was a question to an initial post - and I had an email notification re a reply to my query!

I often write a message but forget to post it and then lose it when I go off to do sometiing else.

No, don't do that - I got this one so there's always hope. Send question again (and keep on sending it until you get an answer (that'll confuse 'em)!!!!

I am poised by my tablet and would be grateful if you'd send it soon 'cos I've got a lot to do today.

If it was a reply to a post it may be that post was deleted by admin. I do know it has happened recently for posts that fall outwith the group guidelines on posting.

Almos certainly - it was the post about Melissa!!

I tried to pm you but it wouldn't let me. Could you please pm me so I can answer.

Dear Nuff1,

I know that it IS very 'Frustrating', when Posts go astray....but it DOES 'Happen'. A friend, some years back now, sent me a "Very Detailed Reply", to one of my questions.....We NEVER found it! Quite frankly, and without being- in any way- nasty here, if we all Left because a 'Post' went astray.....there wouldn't be ANY Members!

Please DO, by all means, try to Chase/ Find your 'Post, but please don't LEAVE because of it Nuff1. I'm, quite sure, that there was Nothing Sinister 'going on' here- we all Respect, each other. We all hope that you have a 'Change Of Heart' and Stay, with us, Nuff1.

Warmest Friendship Wishes

AndrewT

Why did you not send a message direct to Admin about your query re another poster. You can always communicate direct with the relevant people who can answer your question.

Because I wanted it to be on open view!

I believe Mamicis post about Melissa was blocked yesterday ,you will be welcomed if you want to join your old HU friends on MeWe.

For Clarity

Melissa left HU of her own accord & left contact details where you can catch up with her.

I personally didn't see the post or reply yesterday but l will PM you details.

Dear Nuff, please realise that no-one has been "blocked" from this forum. A few people have decided to re-think if they want to stay on the forum, some - of course - have left of their own free will.

You have enjoyed the forum for some time, why leave? You have so many friends on here.

But Melissa had been blocke previously.

in reply to Nuff1

Will PM when l get in, just shopping x

And subsequently decided that she would leave this forum as it doesn't provide what she was seeking. She then found that FB also has rules about what and how things can be posted. If you have left the forum - you can't be blocked.

The Facebook site was closed apparently due to copyright infringement. Weird how our little group was targeted when I am on another Facebook group that multiple times daily infringes copyright rules with no negative affect.

That is strange - and when I heard that was the reason I thought it seemed strange, especially the second time. But never having belonged to any FB group except my friend's family pics one and daughter's wedding I don't know anything about them really.

Occasionally it happens that our needs and goals change, and things that previously were a good fit, no longer satisfy our needs. If you feel you would be more comfortable leaving the forum, please know your posts will be missed by those of us who remain here.

I always find HU very informative and helpful and would not want to leave,l did love the lighter side but l can find that now on Me We .

I agree Patricia (informative and helpful). Just a pity that HU at present doesn't seem to be able to accommodate content on TLS too? But, as you say, there are always other outlets for sharing some innocent fun and humour around our types of illnesses - even if arguably not strictly On Topic. It's a free world and we all have a choice either way.. ;-)

Might see you on the other side..

Hello Mark, pleased to hear from you,l always loved the lighter interactions on this site, especially your posts, you are always very knowledgeable and helpful regarding PMR/GCA.,but l miss the humourous blogs about your furry friend, they certainly did make me smile and forget the dreaded fatigue and pred .,tapering etc.that is part of our PMR journey.l hope you are feeling OK,and not having any relapses or pred increases. The other side would welcome you ,you will find friends from HU there, take care Mark, kindest Regards,Patricia x.

markbenjamin57 profile image

Thanks Patricia, much appreciated ;-).

I've always tried to balance my Lighter Side / humorous (allegedly) stuff with more considered posts about my PMR journey and experiences. Quite a few people seem to share your view: i.e. some light hearted, shared fun and banter (not just my silly stuff) can be a good antidote to the more serious / tough bits of our journey, even if arguably not strictly On PMR GCA Topic . Of course we all have different needs at different times so I think the Jury's out on this one, but you know my thoughts..

I'm not bad thanks, all considered - currently hovering between 2 mgpd Pred and Zero, depending on how I feel / what 'demands' I have. I looked back in my dairy last week - I've been a Guest / Temporary member of PCZ (Pred Club Zero) a few times before so things are probably going the right way generally. As always, we'll see: from experience, PMR and the Pred tapering journey can be unpredictable to say the least - and dependent on so many variables in the equation.

Either way, I will explore the other side: it'll be nice to see some familiar faces there.

Best wishes and thanks in the meantime

MB (and not forgetting Te**ki) ;-)

Thanks Mark ,they will be pleased to see you .l think you are doing well with your pred tapering, better than me,l am yet to reach(Pred Club zero). The lowest dose l managed was 3mg.l feel settled on 5mg and l am a bit nervous about reducing again, another flare and l could end up having to increase the dose up much higher. The DF is ever present, plus a lack of motivation, but l did manage to get to our local yearly Town Mayor’s Civic Service, followed by afternoon tea this afternoon,it was a nice afternoon apart from setting my home security alarm off when l opened my front door,l am sure l pressed the right button before l opened the door, must have been the dreaded brain fog ,l hope it works properly next time,my husband always sorted the system out to re set it ,it always freaks me out now when a problem occurs.l look forward to welcoming you to ‘the other side’,it won’t be taking you away from HU,l know you are much appreciated here and you will be appreciated there too.Best wishes Mark,Patricia x
