Hello Mick

As we aren't medics, it might be best to put your question to the Stroke Association on their Helpline 0303 3033 100. They were very helpful when my son suffered a stroke last year. I believe that Amaurosis Fugax can sometimes precede a stroke or TIA, but as you are on blood thinning medication then you should be protected.

I have in the past seen mention of Amaurosis Fugax by GCA sufferers and you might want to look at eyeinformation.co.uk/amauro... and click on the first link.

It sounds as though you've had a rough time but at least it's good to know things are going in the right direction if you've managed to reduce from 80 to 35mgs Pred. Yes you're concentration will be affected at this dose - I had such a woolly head on 40mgs - but rest assured you will gradually start to feel better as you reduce. Take care and stay positive.

I've noticed that if you click on the link I've given in my reply above, it does not take you to the page I intended. So just type it into your search engine, extending the last two letters "am" to amaurosis_fugax, and it should then bring up a page where you click on the first link.

Thanks Celtic for replies ,just a bit concerned that slowness was a consequence of fugax,as you say meds don't help..Thanks again.
