HI there. I’m now 23 and have been diagnosed with PKD since being 14 years old. Currently at eGGR 23 and as a result at stage 4 renal failure. I take Oramorph and Longtec (oxycodone prolongoned release) tablets for recurring pain due to cyst ruptures.
Ever since I was diagnosed I was told to stay away from NSAID medications such as IBUPROFEN and NAPROXEN but never actually told why this is. Can anyone on here shed some light on this please and tell me if it’s a helpful tip or a precaution or just in case.

NSAIDs can damage kidneys if taken repeatedly over a long time. That's why they are not recommended and doctors are wary of prescribing them. But they can used occasionally.
Nsaids cut blood supply to kidneys a bit. If this happens cysts grow faster. There is also a higher heart attack risk but once on dialysis some nsaid use is possible in certain circumstances however bear in mind the need to help not hurt your ticker.
