amatriptyline

hi, after trying a lot of meds for vulvodynia, they put me on amatriptyline and fazed out Duluxetine. What a nightmare!!!! Nightmares being one of the problems! I would wake up crying and brain zaps constantly!! Horrible experience, so they took me off them and back on Duloxetine. The pain however is severe again, so I’m trying Pregabalin aswell as Duloxetine and Oxybutnine. Got to keep trying I guess. What annoys me tho, is getting the world of benefits to acknowledge how disabilitating the pain can be!!!!!

yes, I took low dose amitryptyline for PN and it affected my thinking and memory so bad I stopped taking it. And my ears are still ringing from the experience. I hope it goes away!

I'm sorry you're dealing with such a tough time. The side effects from medications and the challenge of getting benefits to acknowledge your pain sound incredibly frustrating. I hope the new treatment combination provides some relief soon. Keep pushing for the help you deserve!

I am on Amitriptyline now for vulvodynia. I was on Duloxetine for it also. It took me over a year to get off it.it was horrible. The brain zaps were the worst. Duloxetine quit working, and I tried to get off of it.It helped me a lot when I first went on it, but getting off it was horrible. Amitriptyline seems to help more, but I also take pain medication every 12 hours. This is a horrible disease, and I have had it for 39 years.
