Is what I'm experiencing Pelvic Pain? Plus Spritz for Bits?

I'm 77 years old and have been diagnosed with rectocele and cystocele by my GP and also a private consultant, who told me he could do nothing until I had done 16 weeks of pelvic floor exercises. I found a women's health physio who tells me my pelvic floor measures 5/5 on the modified Oxford scale so I don't need to worry about the exercises. She did a far more thorough exam than either the GP or the consultant. Just keep doing the Pilates classes I've been attending for 25 years.

Everyone has asked me if I have pain or dragging sensations anywhere. I have burning and stinging around the perineum - is this pelvic pain? I assume not. Where do other people experience this pelvic pain that I'm reading so much about? Would that be below the stomach area and above the pubic bone? I'm confused with what I'm reading. I don't think I have what is being called pelvic pain....

I have used oestrogen pessaries and these have now been changed to a cream that I can use in the vulvar area as well as inside the vagina. I have hyaluronic acid cream that I've used once - it burned a lot. I read that it should be used once every 3 days - I'm hoping the burning will get progressively better the more I use it. I also have emollient cream for washing and applying. else

I now have tissue protruding from my vagina outside my body - assuming from the rectocele as that is lower than the cystocele. I have just read about a product for pregnant mums and mums who have recently given birth. It's called Spritz for Bits. Do you think that would be safe to use in the area as I describe it? It is apparently made from natural plant oils. I'm not sure if that would be safe to spray on the protruding tissue. I will also check this with my women's health physio when I next see her, but in the meantime I wonder if any of you has experience of that product.

Many thanks

hi, I’m 73 and had a Rectocele repair 5 months ago. I did some physio but got no benefit from it at all. I was advised to use pure coconut oil to moisturise, it works well. If you use Facebook there is a group “rectocele repair” which you may find helpful.

Thank you very much for both of those tips. I will definitely try the coconut oil. I bought an ointment called Epaderm 2 days ago and it seems to be helping. It's thicker than a cream so it sticks where I put it, rather than being wiped off every time I go for a wee. And I'll look at the Facebook group if I can pluck up the courage - I've read some frightening, sad and worrying stuff on this forum so I'm not sure I want to add more just at the moment - but I'll keep it in mind. Thank you once again for your help.
