Advanced adenomyosis symptoms cycle?

AFter several months of abdominal problems, I got a diagnosis of probable adenomyosis a few weeks ago. It seems bladder issues I had been experiencing are caused by the adenomyosis so I figure from that it's quite advanced.

Seems like some days in spite of a rigid schedule with bladder calming medication, no caffeine, no change in stress levels, blah, blah, blah, my bladder symptoms are just worse than others, inexplicably. So now I'm wondering if these days are caused by where i am in my menstrual cycle. Does anyone else with adenomyosis eexperience this to be the case?

Not sure why I'm posting this exactly, I'm very tired and so sick of being bladder uncomfortable and I guess I'm hoping to feel less alone.

I plan to seek an MRI to get a clearer picture of how big the thing on my uterus that's "probably an adenomyoma" (what my gp said) is. So far I've just had ultrasound, and I think it's left him anticipating my condition to be far milder than it is. He's a good gp, but a bit scatterbrained and as with all NHS doctors, overworked.

Ty in advance.

My tired and bloated self.

Hello, sorry to hear of your troubles :-( I have adenomyosis and it manifests as beyond painful and v heavy periods. Painkillers were not touching it. I now take methanamic acid (a prescribed painkiller) and tranexamic acid (a prescribed blood clotter) and cocodomol (over the counter) and Buscopan (over the counter) when I have my period. And that regular combination seems to work. It was advised by doctor. I had the adenomyosis confirmed via a hysteroscopy and then followed by an MRI. Ask your GP again for tests/referrals - it’s your right. Best of luck x
