hi I hope everybody’s well I’m just trying to see if there’s anybody that has gone through the situation I have gone through or anything similar so I’m going to try to make this short and suite a long story short I lifted something heavy three months ago and then all of a sudden as well I got a UTI I’m still having UTI symptoms I’ve been on different anabiotic‘s but the weird thing with me is that every time I walk I have a sensation on the right side that I have to pee now they’ve done you name it CAT scans MRIs ultrasounds and they say that everything looks normal but come on what I’m feeling is not normal so I was referred to a pelvic floor therapist pretty much physical therapy and she examined me and she said that pretty much I have a rotated pelvis and that my muscles are really weak now my question to my all to my fellow suffers out there is this even possible even have that ? I’m also leaking Urine .. any tips or suggestions I’d appreciate.. god bless you all in this journey of life.. xoxo..

Yes, that is possible. Our muscles weaken naturally as we age. It's harder to maintain the same muscle mass. Takes more work as we go along. It seems you had an event that caused this from lifting a heavy object. A good PT should be able to help you get back to where you need to be. Depending on the severity of the damage done by the lift will depend on how well the leaking will get under control. There is an excellent post on here about how it all works. A you tube video, the doctor explains our anatomy and shows how with aging and sometimes with a event we can get stress urinary incontinence and onto prolapse, etc. Since you have the sensation on the right side, I wonder if you also pulled on a nerve in the area and it's irritated or flared? I have been through the ringer with pelvic floor problems. Try least invasive like PT first. She can also say whether a suppository might help calm the nerve down. I wish you the best.

I have a long complicated history. You can read about it in my profile. I am much better than I started out, but I have never 100 % recovered. I was injured by a medical product and I believe at this point it will be with me until I pass. However, it is manageable and doesn't control my life. I know where you are is scary. But from what you've shared, I think you have the possibility of recovering 100%. Try not to add to your discomfort by thinking things like this will never change or I'll be like this forever. That thinking can unconsciously hold you back from going full throttle ahead with PT, and wherever your doctors send you. I know it's really frustrating. It is easy to think like this when it puts our life on hold. Just not fun at all!! Try reminding yourself that you haven't tried anything yet, to take it one day at a time, that this too is temporary -it will end at some point. Have you tried using the heating pad or ice (or both alternating). They relieve pain fairly well. I sat on a ice bag for a few years while getting the help I needed. Just be careful not to overdo it - if iced more than 20 mins at a time can cause burns. Ice does help reduce inflammation, which reduces pain. Did the PT give you some basic exercises to strengthen your pelvic floor and stretches to help you realign? That seems to me a place to start, gently. One issue I have is I do too much - so if I was given 10 sets of an exercise, I'd do 15-20. Or hold longer than told to hold. I wanted it over with yesterday. I learned pretty quickly that this is counter productive! Another caution, if you're given an exercise that makes pain increase, let them know ASAP and don't do it. Not a muscle soreness type of pain. But sharp, stabbing, etc. I was told that for me to recover I was going to face pain, couldn't get around it because of the muscle, nerve damage I sustained. So there is "good pain" muscles getting stronger and "bad pain" increasing the problem. You need to listen to your body and research your symptoms as much as possible. Women's health is very complicated, not real well studied and you know your body better than anyone else does. It has helped me to learn my anatomy, I can talk to the doctor more specifically and that helps them to help me. Again, I wish you the best of health!! Hang in there!

Thank you sooo much now I guess I’m just scared and I have an ongoing uti issue as well I’ve been on antibiotics but it doesn’t seem to pass either ugh 😑 sucks I hope I get to the bottom of this soon I’ve been on like 3 antibiotics and nothing..

Ugh!!! They are miserable! I get them frequently. Stay on top of it. Not to scare you, but I went septic from a UTI that didn't clear, I had it 5 weeks. Don't let them say, just give the antibiotics time to work. It's not a simple UTI if it isn't clearing. Have they cultured and know what the infection is? They may need to do a cystoscopy if it doesn't clear soon. (They scope your bladder and see if something is amiss- can be different things, a pocket that isn't clearing, from partial prolapse etc.) Keep on them.

I had a cystic pay done a month ago he just said my bladder is inflamed I’m going to see another specialist the one I had sucks .. because I’m not emptying my bladder something is going on and I’m getting scared because the uti doesn’t clear I get what I mean but I’ve had the camera thing done and they don’t say anything something isnt right I hope they get to the bottom of it .

I feel like I have a prolapse too .. because not only that sensation too pee but when walking triggers it ..

Prolapse could definitely keep your bladder from not emptying completely. Which would keep infection going. Have they done urodynamics? That should show whether it is completely emptying. I just know we can't be on antibiotics all the time, and you can go septic from a UTI. Which I didn't know until it happened to me. Online they say nursing home settings with catheters. That may be more the case, but not wholly true. I hope you find the help you need!!

Nursing home w catheters don’t understand ?

I mean do uti symptoms peeing frequently last forever?

Oh, the report I read online about UTI's and sepsis. They said that women in nursing homes with indwelling catheters were the ones in danger of becoming septic. I did not agree, they may be, but others as well.

I feel helpless it’s soo hrs to get helps the first urologist I had sucks so now I’m in the process to see a diff one.. they’ve checked my cervix etc and say it looks fine but i don’t understand why I’m having those issues .. I guess pelvic floor physical therapy doesn’t sound like a bad idea To try in the mean time..

It definitely can't hurt! I know the helpless feeling, ugh! So sorry! I just worry more about infection. Dr.'s are so blase about UTI's as they are so common. But they don't seem to realize they can be dangerous if left unchecked. I passed out and was 90°F by the time I got to the hospital. In a coma for 4 days over an infection that went septic. Of course, there were other indicators being ignored, very tired, kept falling asleep, lethargic, pain from UTI. I am happy to hear you're seeing a different doctor. Just insist the infection needs to get cleared/reason for it found and corrected. I had infected kidney stones that caused me to keep getting infected. A GYN said that could be the issue. I saw four urologists who basically laughed that off. Finally the 5th one decided to remove the stones. Wala, infection finally cleared. 2 years worth of being dragged out fighting infection!! UGH! Just unbelievable! I ask a lot of questions every time I go to the doctor.

I recently saw the urologist no sign of uti my uterus cervix looks fine.. but that issue w my right pelvic side is very tense it’s bothersome to walk which makes me pee.. I’ll start physical therapy w a pelvic floor therapist too hopefully it helps because I’m at my wits end w this I’m hoping I can walk normal again it’s been 3 months

No infection. Great! PT is a good place to start. I have pudendal nerve damage and the pain from it often mimics the UTI. Just a thought if you have trouble finding source. I pray you find an answer to your problem soon.

Thank you for listening and for your advice and I am just grateful to be part of this community and sorry to bombard you with so many questions but I feel like you’re the only one that understands what I’m going through because you’re going through something similar for my issue I don’t know if it’s the nerve but I’m kind of thinking because OK there’s no infections but I had the symptoms that mimic and every time I walk I have to pee and when I pee I feel like minutes later I have to pee again I mean do you honestly think if it’s a weak pelvic floor that a weak pelvic floor can even cause this?
