Hi everyone, I’m new here but I’ve been having some terrible pelvic pain for the last 6 months or so. I tried some medication and PT but had no success with those. My latest doctor recommend ultrasound trigger point injections but I’m not sure how I feel about this. Has anyone done this before and can let me know about their experience?
Some background on me, I’m an early 20s female, my symptoms are mostly a burning and just overall pain in the area.

I get botox injections into the pubirectalis muscle for levator-ani syndrome in conjunction with vaginal internal /external trigger point therapy with my specialist physio,it doesn't eradict pain but lessens enough for me to sit on my bottom more easily. I also have Dysfunctional bladder and bowel (colitis) and notice a decrease in flare ups. Like all treatments and meds it's finding what combinations work best for you. Hope this info helps and wishing you good health.
I had botox for the second time in October. It worked wonders first time for me with a combination of dilation therapy. Second time required dilators and physio... However I'd had a laparoscopy in March of that year (I have endometriosis). I'm also having counselling sessions too for vaginismus/pelvcc pain and a bunch of deep-seated childhood traumas. I'm also on anti depressants too, which help with the pain. But I agree with Skye22 - you must do what you find works for you and sometimes this is only done through trial and error.
