Has anyone here had a hysterectomy and kept their ovaries, but the ovaries have failed afterwards?
I'm 7 months post hysterectomy and I've started having spotting and bad pain in my ovaries and hips. I also wake up really sweaty. My doctor mentioned my ovaries could be failing.
Can anyone tell me if these symptoms are similar to theirs or if you think its something else please can you share? How are failing ovaries diagnosed? Due to covid I have only spoken to the doctor in a very short call over the phone so I'm interested to find out as much as I can.
Thank you x

Hi there, I had a hysterectomy aged 26 whereby they left my ovaries in place. Then the nightmare began.
Abdominal Pain was awful and scans revealed I had ovarian cysts and my ovaries were failing. Was put on HRT and each cyst they would shell out. Obviously this can only be done several times and eventually my ovaries were removed.
Next nightmare began!!
Surgeries left internal scarring and had several ops to separate adhesions. 13ops later, have Bowel, bladder, Abdominal and pelvic adhesions.
I was ignorant about my long term health then and if I knew then what I know now I would not have had so many surgeries!!!!
I have long term health needs now, Dysfunctional bowel and bladder and pelvic pain.
I would advise anyone considering surgery to be fully informed of risks and longer term health needs, consult with your physician and even get second opinion.
I now have a great medical team who help me manage my conditions but I can't help being bitter about how I was previously treated. Surgery is no longer an option for me due to risks of complications.
I wish you well for the future, and hope you get the treatment that works for you.
