Need advice about urilogical symptoms....

Anyone else have burning after urination and bladder irritarion? What does your doctor say about this? Could this be IC? Could this just be a result of hypertonic pelvic floor dysfunction? My pelvic floor therapist thinks it is a result of the spasms in my pelvic floor. I am getting a second opinion from a urologist/pelvic floor specialist in November.

I do not have urgency and it does not hurt when my bladder is full. Only hurts after I release urine. Then it will last a while after. I feel an achiness in my pelvic area too. When I was first diagnosed I tried the elimination diet for IC for two weeks and there was no improvement so I am hesitant to believe thats what it is.

I guess I'm wondering if anyone else with hypertonic muscle dysfunction experiences this and what you have done to help it? Thanks!

Hi there I have a recent diagnosis of levator-ani syndrome which causes severe pelvic floor spasms which can "lock" for days and causes endless pain. I take ant-spasmodics and amitriptyline for pain management. I also have had my second round of botox into pubirectalis muscle. Injections don't eradicate pain but have a lessening in intensity lasting couple of months!!!😊

My pelvic floor spasms are also compromising my bladder and bowel further complicated with adhesions. My specialist women's health physio supports me with treatment of vaginal trigger point therapy which helps lessen pain from severe spasms and performs visceral abdominal massage to help adhesion pain and bowel spasms.

My bowel condition requires daily treatments and I have now been diagnosed with painful bladder syndrome. I had bad incontinence and urinary frequency, felt like I was living in my bathroom!!! 😕

My consultants (both female) suggested I tried bladder neck injections to see if it could help with incontinence, and I'm really pleased to say I have now got 60% retention, hooray !!!! It is early days might require top up injections and bladder medication for painful spasms but I can cope better with a comprehensive care plan supported by a great health care team!!

It has taken four years to diagnose my conditions and some are life long but I ride out the flare ups and celebrate the few good days!!!

It was my physio who organized all my appointments to various clinics and helps me manage conditions. Its been a long struggle but I try to remain positive. I wish you good health and stay strong hope you find the answers.😊

Does it cause spasm and if so have you tried urospas a medication that calms the muscles around the urethra?

I have not tried any form of medication. Im hopeful this new doctor will have some pain management options for me and some more answers. But yes I feel like urination is causeing the spasms. I especially feel burning in my urethra.
